Popular shoe brand TOMS today unveiled a new line of Apple Watch bands, each of which is made of a durable grosgrain fabric with leather detailing.

Apple Watch bands are divided into two collections, Utility and Artisan. Utility bands, priced at $49, come in Light Blue Stripe, Black, and Olive for 42mm Apple Watch models, and Dusty Pink, Light Blue Stripe, and Clay for 38mm Apple Watch models.

Artisan bands, priced at $75, feature a full leather backing on the band and are more expensive than Utility bands. Artisan bands come in Black Diamond (38mm and 42mm), Royal Blue Diamond (38mm), and Red Diamond (42mm).

All of TOMS Apple Watch bands feature stainless steel lugs and buckles, which match the stainless steel Apple Watch models. GIVE TIME is etched on each buckle with gold TOMS embossing on the band itself.

Each TOMS Apple Watch band purchase provides one year of solar light to families who lack access to reliable electricity.

Are these made out of recycled fish nets and unicorn fur, like their ridiculously goofy shoes? And +1 on the watch band comments. If I ever DID bring myself to buy an Apple watch (likelihood=not) it would be a basic sport band and bands would never even be an afterthought. Why Apple thinks so highly of the watch band concept is beyond me.

All these people complaining about Watch bands, but it's nice to actually see more name brand third party bands coming along even a couple years after the initial release.

Isn't that one of the biggest things about watches? That they are customizable and can be tailored to the users tastes?

Now all we need is a watch face App Store so devs can design custom style watch faces a la Pebble.

You people are inscrutable. These are some very nice watch straps for their prices (coming from a name brand and one that donates to charity as well). NATO and Zulu style watch straps are quite popular, and these do well to bring the typically cheap nylon construction of common NATO bands up to par with more quality offerings. The only thing I can find objectionable about these is the obnoxious "Artisan" branding of the full backed models, which is just a bit too self-congratulatory for my liking.

WatchHaters=TooBadSoSad I for one feel naked without my AWatch If you don't own and use one you have absolutely no right to dis it It has complimented my technology perfectly and serves it's purpose as less obtrusive tech while being fun and playful (and I still own only a first gen.

Good, it's about time. As long as they keep their donating in mind, I hope all the poor kids in Africa receive a watch with every band purchase from someone here in the states.

I can get solar light from just walking outside.

So about $4 dollars of the $75 goes to charity. This is something being sold to people with money to burn......fleece them for more and give more to charity. Companies like this that try and project a do-good image while selling overpriced tat just don't seem guenuine in their intent.

And yet it's still much more than nothing at all.

Yes, indeed it is and every dollar helps. However, if they feel so strongly, donate discretely don't cynically plaster it over the website trying to draw in a sympathetic demographic. Why don't they keep it simple and say they will give a percentage of their profit if they are that committed to charity?

I moan every single time I see an article about watch bands. And not the sexy kind of moaning either. More like a wounded zebra moan.
Stay tuned. PETA's expected to launch a line of wounded zebra watch bands as early as next week!

Up to 5% of your purchase will go towards helping a wounded zebra of your choice in Africa.

Can honestly say I don't like any band that I've seen that Apple didn't make (with the exception of the $49 Apple fabric ones; I think they look feral as). They just all seem to make the watch look tacky.
Still have yet to pull the trigger on an Apple Link Band though!

Jesus Christ these are ugly! They take a sophisticated watch and make it look like a free-in-your-cereal-box gadget!
The watch is sophisticated? Ehhh, I'll wait until they come up with something that works while not soft-tethered to an iPhone.

Oh god Tim (face palm)

Tim has nothing to do with the article. Some forum members skip reading the article and automatically interject negative remarks about the CEO of a Company, because its the band wagon effect with Macrumors. Take your time reading the article next time.

On topic: I am a supporter of the Apple Watch, but these bands are hideous.
