Most people don't even buy the stainless model, so how many of these could they possibly sell? Should have made them to go with the aluminum models and sold them for about $30. Then they would sell a ton. Stocking stuffer at that price. $50-75 and only goes with stainless? Not so much.

Are these made out of recycled fish nets and unicorn fur, like their ridiculously goofy shoes? And +1 on the watch band comments. If I ever DID bring myself to buy an Apple watch (likelihood=not) it would be a basic sport band and bands would never even be an afterthought. Why Apple thinks so highly of the watch band concept is beyond me.
Why even waste your time commenting if you don't own a watch. While not Mac news, more band choices is still welcome news for watch owners, and these prices seem fair.

My only issue with Apple implementation of WatchBands is that they essentially is saying "If you want to change straps, get the Stainless Steel silver edition" as if I'm not mistaken, the lugs that Apple sells only comes in 1 color of the stainless steel version. Yeah sure we can use the lugs on other Apple Watches, but it doesn't match and I'm surprised that the "pure" Ive accepted such design compromise.

Really? How did you arrive to that conclusion?
Yes, the aluminum is cheaper, but how do you know that most don't purchase the stainless model?

Christ these are not only ugly and cheap looking, but judging from the attachment points made only for stainless steel watches. Yeah, no. I'd rather buy a nice no name band off amazon for 29 bucks and donate the leftover 40 directly to my charity of choice, thanks.

Nothing about the Apple Watch is sophisticated as far as watches go.

Sophisticated in a sense as to what? I think technology in general is sophisticated and add that to a smart watch, which is still relatively new and evolving for that matter. Sophisticated doesn't apply to a $20.00 Timex Watch, but I think when one considers a smart watch, sophisticated seems to be an appropriate fit. Actually, all that technology packed into a small OLED screen appears sophisticated to me.

Stay tuned. PETA's expected to launch a line of wounded zebra watch bands as early as next week!

Up to 5% of your purchase will go towards helping a wounded zebra of your choice in Africa.

You think they killed all those animals for fun? No, the new cat and dog fur leather watch band line is going to bring them so much money!

Most like to act like they have knowledge about a product they own, when in fact they don't own or have any knowledge at all. And of course, this forum has the typical Apple Watch haters. I just have to remind myself
It's Macrumors coupled with ignorance.

I look at it as a matter of complexity. No a $20 Timex is not sophisticated as it uses a simple and cheap quartz movement and costs a mere $20, which is far less than an Apple Watch. However, one could easily argue that something like a $100-$300 Seiko automatic watch is more sophisticated in terms of what makes up the movement inside of it and the fact that it relies on no power source such a battery that requires a charge. This is why I said in terms of watches.

In terms of it being a mini computer, yes it is sophisticated in the functions it offers in a small piece of electronics. But I am looking at it in the market it is in, which is the watch market. Apple's goal is having someone replace their current timepiece with the Apple Watch.

Even if I were to slim it down to just the smart watch market, there are smart watches that can do more than the Apple Watch with less reliance on the connection to their phone.

Hope this clears up where my comment was coming from.

Why comment? Because if I don't the powers that be will start to forget that the consensus here believes this is not substantive news...as evidenced by multiple likes on my original comment.

People keep saying the watch has flopped, but why do new companies keep coming into the market if thats the case?
Toms shoes were a very successful product a few years back so its quite a cool brand to be doing this. They must think this is a growing market and worthwhile to do.

Anecdotally, I have seen more apple watches on people than any single watch brand I've heard of. They are everywhere! Admittedly I live in a big city but on my travels I see them too. I think it's quietly become a pretty big product for them.

Oh god Tim (face palm)

??????
When did Tim become CEO of Tom's?
I always thought that was Tom.

Btw, I saw that some idiot got stopped in an airport for having an iPhone case tucked in his waistband, that made it look like a real pistol. Want to blame Tim for that too??!! ;0)
