Why are so many Apple users complaining about the high price? It's what capitalism is all about. They are clearly following Apple's model of high margins and high revenues. I applaud them. Too many things are cheap and low quality.

Because paying a premium for a product always means you're getting high quality? Isn't that what people in this thread are complaining about?

I hope that they don't sell very many. They are too greedy.

Unfortunately with the holidays around the corner, they probably will. Lots of people buying it for others when they don't understand (or don't care) it is over price. Come January 1, we will probably see a price reduction. Although I doubt it will be enough to make it worth it.

Tom Tom is high quality. Quality doesn't come cheap.

Are you kidding?

This is one of the most expensive, least fit for purpose nav apps in the store.

TT's current pricing and lack of delivery/free updates seems to indicate that it wishes to alienate its loyal customer base and the iPhone community as a whole. What's the odds that no updates are released to address the lag before the mount starts shipping? This is corporation greed at its worst. I hope it comes back to bite them in their bottom line.

I can only hope that, like me, no one gives TT another penny until they sort the UNFIT for purpose app and address their ridiculous pricing structure. Only then might they learn something about market forces.

You are probably right. To be honest I prefer Navigon, especially here in Spain. TomTom is like a bottomless money pit.

Why would you pay so much for a small screen GPS???? I bought a dedicated Maestro Magellan for less and it is a dedicated GPS system with a large screen, shows all the AAA places, restaurants etc. What's the point? There is something here I am not seeing.

Lol. I really expected to see [update] now in US online store. Did this story just die again like the last time TT dock appeared in the UK apple store?

Quality comes at all sorts of prices...

Tomtom is high quality? Are you talking about the end product experience (I'd tend to agree, assuming you're talking about PNAs), or are you talking about the quality of the software?
I don't think its the best solution for iphones/pdas, and it's certainly a complete mess when it comes to implementation on other platforms (and their own?..). You're also paying a premium, more than a dedicated pna, for a watered down version of their navigation app. Are they trying to upsell their own machines or are they just incompetent?
Quality? You get what you pay for......oh wait a minute

Yeah the price sucks but i really can't think of another plug and play option that allows for all this functionality.. The only question i have is whether or not I will hear that horrible "hisssing" sound when i plug the phone into the car kit. Yeah I'll be kicking and screaming but if the reviews are positive i'm all over this thing
