Typical Scott. Classless, but honest. Also love the swearing, this is much needed in the MacRumors society.

Good review.

I'm hammered btw.

C'mon mate, how can anyone expect an honest review after that, easily your poorest video (I have followed them all). You criticized the packaging before it was even opened and refuse to read the manual. Is that the volume button?

I plan on buying this the day it becomes available in Canada (there, now you know someone that is waiting). I'll gladly give an unbiased opinion and demonstration. If it's junk I'll tell you, if it's great I'll say so.

Having a preconception of the product before you've even opened it up does nobody any good. Why would anyone take your review seriously?

I haven't watched the video since youtube is blocked at work, but people thinking this guy is ENGLISH OR IRISH definitely MUST be American....

He has a SCOTTISH Flag and lives in s SCOTTISH town...

So he is obviously french... jeesh.

I never seen a SCOTTISH Flag in my life

never knew it looked like that

btw braveheart was a great movie :)

You guys honestly can't tell the difference between British, Irish, and Scottish accents lol? :p Imagine if we threw Australian, Kiwi and South African in the mix haha!
Worse that no one knows any geography anymore. His sig says Glasgow. I'll leave it to the poorly-educated among us to Google where that is.

I'd want to hope not. If they don't then they're incredibly poorly educated.

Yes, it's pretty sad. I think I knew where it is when I was in like...3rd grade or so.

Yes, the American education system is in a very sad state.

the only thing I know about Scotland is braveheart :p

I'd say it is probably the most recognizable city in Scotland, not to mention the biggest.

Yes the U.S. education system is garbage, BRING BACK THE ARTS! Sorry, I think we are a bit off topic now lol.

At least now this Scotish unboxing guy knows that we are aware that a lot of Americans are dumb lol! :p

and yet we the most powerful country in the world ;)

We get it, blah blah blah we're so dumb, our education sucks, our politics suck, our foreign policy sucks, our cars suck, blah blah blah.

The TomTom car kit looks pretty slick, but I won't be spending that kind of money on a car kit. Even if it is that nice...

Thanks for posting the video.:apple:

all nationality stuff aside

can you post your review of this product here on macrumors when you are done

MacFly123, this is off topic slightly but surely you mean "You guys honestly can't tell the difference between ENGLISH, Irish, and Scottish accents lol?"

I'm from England, and I speak English. Since when do people say they speak British?

I simply can't wait to spend £99 of my hard earned income on a piece of plastic that every thief in London will recognise and want to steal/sell for a tidy sum. I would have to remove it from my windscreen every time I leave my vehicle unattended. Anyone leaving this crap on display in their vehicle is asking for a broken window.

I'm sorry if you feel this way. However, if you look back through the video - the only thing I actually criticise is the PRICING aspect, not the product quality and nor the 'packaging' as you state.

No doubt - its going to be a great unit (still to test it) and if it isn't - I'll be posting this thing to the TomTom HQ with some of my own sh*t. However, just by looking at the packaging - that won't be happening. One can easily tell from the packaging that this is premium stuff.

Again, my main gripe is with pricing and nothing else.

Nice video; I agree on the pricing. If it was £50 then I might consider it, but there's no chance I am getting it for that money. I got a £5 eBay holder and it works brilliantly!

I think the english say Bloody

this guy sounds Irish

For christ's sake you ignorant bloody fool, he's Scottish. I am English and he does not sound Irish.

In all fairness - a thief would most likely take a standalone unit than a simple cradle. I can't see thieves going around cars looking for specific TomTom Car Kit cradles. Yes, if they come across it - they may be interested... depending on how much they know about it (price wise).

TomTom units are most likely to get stolen, and they do - Glasgow is notorious for this (in certain areas).

Ahem.

A Scottish accent (just like an English accent) is a British accent because Scotland is part of Britain. There is no such thing as a single British accent.
