Anybody planning to go to Apple store before opening and stand in line? Has anyone done it? I have hardly seen any stock online in DFW area for att 6+. So I am wondering if the "stores are giving the phones to people in line before they hit online" theory is correct.

I haven't had any luck with online pick-up so I'm thinking of trying it at the Knox St location tomorrow.

Same, I'm trying to figure out if apple is reserving any stock for in store pick up. There doesn't seem to be any around me, which is weird because I thought Apple was supposed to get new stock everyday. I wonder if they're allocating 99% of the stock to the line waiters.

Just called local store number and asked them why I can't see any stock online. Rep said that they are getting new shipments every day but they are being sold FCFS. That might be the reason why nothing is seen online. I have some work this morning but I will try to go to store before they open today and see if I can get lucky.

NooOOOOOOoOO. This ruins it for everybody that works 9-5. Not sure what to do. I really really do not want to wait inline to get it. I guess that explains why people are waiting in long lines in front of the stores.

Because we don't have VZ but want to buy the phone outright and use our ATT sim. There is no option to purchase a phone outright other than tmobile on the apple web site and there are none available

I'm not really sure why people are saying this?? I am under contract with Verizon and do not have an upgrade. When they run my eligibility it shows it's not available and gives me the option to buy for full price. I have the phone I want in my cart on the apple store app ready to check out when one becomes available. I was also able to do this on Apples site. It checks for an upgrade and then lets me check out at full retail price.

I know. It sucks. Today is the only day I can probably go to store before it opens. Could you guys your local Apple store and confirm this theory. As much as Apple cust. service is good, I can't rely on one rep.

Got to the Apple Store at 8:00am this morning.. iPhone 6+ in stock in every configuration except 128gb for Verizon ATT and Sprint.

Zero 6+ for T-Mobile and only 1 gold 128gb 6 available.

Side note- All four people in front of me purchased 2 phones each.

I went to the Apple Store the last few days. There are usually 20 or so people in line. About 30 minutes before opening they come out and let you know what they have. Every day the 6 Plus has been scarce and when they do have it, it's in Sprint. One day they had 1 AT&T, but you had to be 1st in line to get it.

If you are buying outright, then San Antonio North Star has VZ 64GB silver in stock. You can use it with ATT.

Thanks for the info but I'm looking for SG only...I know, I'm picky! :D

I didn't know that, but the issue is Bill i don't have VZ so i cannot purchase it outright as I'm on ATT. I will try your method with ATT and see what comes up, thanks for the heads up

EDIT: There are no ATT available so i can't check :/

EDIT 2: It says its not available for upgrade on my line

Also, every day the 1st 6-8 people in line are really old Asian people. Like 70 year olds just camped out. I didn't think much of it until the 3rd straight day.

My rMini iPad works on LTE. It is Verizon model but I use with ATT. Not sure I understand what you mean. With VoLTE addition, it should all be same, right? Or I am missing something?

iPhones don't support every LTE band on each version. Apple just doesn't have the technology yet to include all LTE bands in one phone.

hahaha that is sooo true !! CAMPING LITTERALLY !!

I was #2 out of 30ish yesterday and they came outside 30 minutes prior to opening and announced only 1 6+ was in the most recent shipment and it was for sprint and the entire line walked away.

Same here. Apple rep at Tacoma, WA said I would have to be one of the first in line to get a plus and that people start lining up at 4am. I don't know if I can line up again and end up empty handed again. I might "settle" for the 6 out of frustration.

What location and how early did you get there before opening to be #2 in line?

Catching up on last nights conversation, is it true that you can't order AT&T Next for in-store pickup? And if so, can you order for 2-year and then convert to Next when you go to the store?

Yeah what everyone is saying is true. I was 4th in line at my apple store this morning. I have been checking their website religiously and haven't seen any pluses for AT&T. They ended up having 2 pluses so I missed out. What the apple rep told me was that they have 2 inventory systems. One for walk ins and one for online reservations. The walk in system gets priority on stock. Whenever they have a large shipment of phones, they then put some on the website for reservations. So that explains alot. He said to be first in line or right up there when you can be. You'll have a better chance then checking online.
