So I gather from all these replies that I should basically stay as far away as possible from something like this. I mean, I don't even need/want all that software. LogicStudio would be great (since I'm a guitarist) but GarageBand looks dec too, but really past that, all I'd need is FCE 4, maybe Toast and Parallels, and none of those programs are expensive. So yeah, I'll go through Apple Canada.

On another note, is now a good time to buy an iMac? I'm willing to wait a little bit if core i7's make their way to iMacs in the near future. I saw on the buyer's guide that we're mid-way through this-gen's iMac's life. So buy or hold?

Arrandale won't be out until 2010 and I still don't think they'll use Clarksfield, so...

Is it just me, or does the listing say Applecare until July 26, 2013. Where did the extra year of coverage come from?

I've reported it many times, but these auctions still show up, and ones I've reported show an 'ended'(i.e. sold). Problem is ebay won't, for privacy reasons(yeah right), tell you the resolution of your report.

Like you said, for obvious reasons($$$), Ebay won't do anything. They just probably have the reporting system their to cover their butt if the Software Association or others tried to sue them.

Ebay is far more interested in making money than being ethical. Unless you're doing something excessively illegal, like selling drugs or body parts, Ebay doesn't give a rat's arse.

You can buy it, just note that if the software you think you are getting fails – we warned you.

No man, I was asking if now is the right time to buy an iMac in general. I've decided I'm going to purchase it from Apple themselves.

I just got a reply from the seller.

Dear ski2moro,

I have Adobe and Final Cut OEM available along with the computer. I can get you everything original for $3500. In that case you do not need to be worried about any free software pre-installed on your machine. I do not charge for any software, my machines come with that software preinstalled from my vendor.
Please let me know when you want to make the $3500 purchase.

If I knew how to report this, I would. If ebay cared, I would.

That's been asked and answered since day 1 of this site.
If you NEED it now, buy it, if you can wait...then wait!
