Definitely a lot of unnecessary hate going around now. Mostly from users who have been here longer and think that they know more than new posters.:mad:

no i disagree , not long ago people using Apple products had been Apple users from start , but now more and more are switchers
they switch to mac osx because they like the new design of the Mac's and still can run their windows on them ,
and users of ordinary mobile phones switch to the iphone because it has become some sort of status symbol and you are only classed as a homo sapiens if you got the newest version , if you got a older version you are just a leftover of evolution

so there are people who see everything as perfect if it comes from Apple and take it like it is no matter how many design faults it has as long as its branded Apple and they absolutely can not live a minute longer if they have not the newest product
and others who see the design faults and point them out and are happy to have a older one which just works

More trolls signed up after IP4 came out. I didn't see that many negative comments before, at least not in iPad area.

More like way too many people needlessly crying "troll".

Everyone needs to read the moderator announcement at the top of the forum.

Especially this part:

•Calling other users a troll (directly or indirectly, i.e. 'dont feed the troll') is an insult and is against forum rules. If you believe a user to be trolling, please report the applicable post and let us handle it.

AppleJuiced said "Yep, way too many trolls lately."

he in no way violated any rule because he did not call any specific person anything............ he simply made a statement based of fact.

Apparently mods are not doing their job. I see a new bad post every few minutes. If they were really monitoring "trolls" then threads should be locked out immediately.

My suggestion:

Just get used to it and grow thicker skin. The droidboys are multiplying and only bringing more hate with them every minute and every second. Pretty soon this will be droid forums instead of iphone forums.

Pretty much this. Just ignore the trolls, no matter what they say. They're just trolls. Let it slide off your back.

I think its goign to get worse once september comes around.

The're still a lot of folks thinking, there's gonna be a full recall and a desing change by sept 30 with no actual hard evidence of it, jus running on rumors and specullation. If it doesn't happend (most probbably won't) its going to be june - july all over again.

I'm not worried, i am saying that as a long time reader i am finding the iPhone forum less useful than before.

I agree. It's more complaints than it is helpful information. And when someone has a legit question (even though it may come off as silly) they are accused of trolling.

I look at it this way... The smartphone business is pretty exciting right now especially with the very competitive battle between the iPhone and Android phones. I don't think you can call someone a troll just because they prefer Android. They are only a troll if their only purpose on the message board is to try and upset iPhone people.

Most people understand that competition creates better products for everyone. The smartphone battle is a little like a format war. Things got pretty ugly back in the Blu-ray vs. HDDVD days. The difference however is that a single standard of HD disc media made sense. I don't think there needs to be a single smartphone standard just like their doesn't need to be a single computer OS standard. As long as my Droid can call or text an iPhone and my Mac can communicate with a PC and the network it doesn't really matter.

Use the phone and carrier that works for you.

It's a message board, why worry??

If the forums become just a message board for trolls to hang out, you lose all the good members, the only reason I come to the forum is for the good members, I'm not here for the trolls, and I'm pretty sure 99.9% of MR feel the same.

There are always going to be insecure individuals who identify too closely with the tech that they buy. People who see an attack on their iphone, android phone, mac, pc etc as an attack on them personally. As the result of this they then have to fight back. The easiest thing to do is just to accept that they have a problem and ignore them.

I am a sad person that really wanted an iphone 4 as soon as possible. When I got it I was as excited as a small child. Much as I love my phone, I do not identify myself with it. Both it and I have faults and are not perfect. I can live with that. The advantages significantly outweigh the disadvantages. I'm happy.

As for the long time users bitching about new users I think that that is a little simplistic. Yes there are long time users who bitch about new users but there are also newcomers who bitch about long term users as well. It's down to the individual. In the main I have found people on the forums welcoming and helpful. I posted a thread and complete strangers went out of their way to help me. I have learnt a lot from people who have had a mac a lot longer than me. Thanks to them, people like Aggie who's posts are positive and helpful, I'm a very happy pc to mac switcher. Just like in real life, ignore people who are negative just for the sake of it.:)

Some of them are here to earn their FUDster paycheck.

I didn't say that because he tried to throw some rule at me like he's a mod but judging by many of his posts. Alot of members agree with me on that.

Exactly. Not sure why an Apple hater hangs out at an Apple web site.
