Waaaaaa?!?!?! Ebay? What sucker paid that much for a 3G?

I can't imagine getting more than 50 bucks for my year old 3G, even if I unlock it.

I sold it to my manager at work :p. But you can definetely get more then $50! Go ahead and try:):)

Thanks everybody for the comments here and on Youtube!!! :):):).

Any suggestions on improving the video so I can use for my next one?

you just single-handedly convinced me to jailbreak my iphone...

i figure with the one-year anniversary of my 3g coming up, it's about time that I stepped into the big leagues and started running pandora/slacker in the background!

great vid and thanks again..

Heheh, I hadn't seen your post before! Thats awesome! You know what, I was in the same ordeal. I never wanted to jailbreak and said to myself I wouldn't be missing out on anything. Boy I was wrong:p

Does this work with the new 3.0.1 firmware?

Yes, it does. When redsn0w asks you for the firmware, just choose the 3.0 IPSW and it will work the same way. Just update to 3.0.1 first then follow those steps.

I'm not going to bother jailbreaking until I get a 3GS(if I even do). The 3G, I find, is just too slow when you do things like the backgrounding or running non-Apple "plugins" like that wicked SMS app you demonstrated. Thanks for the video though, great job explaining it all and showing the advantages!

Not problem! But it's true, the 3G doesn't hold up so well with all
those programs I currently have. I used to have half of them
on my old 3G and it was a lagfest everywhere. You can install a few though without too much of a performance hit.

One thing. Instead of irealquickSMS you should look at biteSMS its free and instead of a contact button theres a favorite button i tried both and i think that biteSMS is just flawless. i love my new jailbroken iphone.

The only thing i was really worried about was how long SMS would take to load but i dont have to worry about that. lol. I havent found any lagging at least anything new.

Oh I had no idea BiteSMS got a Quick Compose,Reply, etc. I had it a while back and it didn't have any of those! That's great to know though, and it has a trial! I will try it out, thanks!

I got 3g unrestrictor yesterday....But it doesn't seem to be working well for my Internet but is working great for my YouTube...also The theme I have on my phone has a firefox icon....Is it really firefox or is it just an icon..I was wondering if that had anything to do with it?

What do you mean for your Internet? Remember all it does is trick the programs you choose into thinking that they are on a wifi network when your on 3G/Edge.

As for the firefox question, no, it's not firefox, just a replacement picture for the icon of Safari.
