Did Apple release press statement why they cancelled AirPower? It's a good tech and its getting better already. There is already a 27watts wireless charger.

I refuse to believe that they can't do it correctly because they have a massive of money for its research and development. Could it be it has something to do with patent?

I don't think they said exactly why. Just a generic statement about an "inability to meet their own high standards".

If its about "inability to meet their own high standards" how come they support the tech by producing wireless charging capable devices. That's a little bit confusing. Because that kind of statement is like saying that the tech is not up to their standard. If its about wattage it would still make no sense because if I am not mistaken iPhone only shipped with 5watts and Qi standard starts at 5watts and according to Wikipedia future extension of the standard is up to 60watts. Basically they are contented with slow charging of a 5watts charger.

If the rumor about iPhone without ports comes to life in the future then having no wireless charger of their own is a little bit awkward.

This is confusing. Apple allows devices, such as external drives, to be connected to the lighting port on an iphone 11, yet they don't make the devices that they allow to be connected.

You may be reading more into this than was meant by the original statement from Apple.

I don't buy this rumor, but that's me.

People definitely overreact when it comes to the switch to ARM. One mention of it and people go off into a slippery slope of how the Mac is going to die. No, Bootcamp is going nowhere. No, you will not lose all of your apps. No, Apple is not trying to kill the Mac. Apple would not kill the computers that make them 10% of their entire revenue, and hold the third spot in laptop market share.

You forgot the "iHome". Portable popup homes that look like yurts with cameras/microphones everywhere (including bath/toilet/bed/etc.). You can elect to stream 1 or more cameras/mics. And if you choose privacy..don't worry we won't peek. Great for social media and attracting followers!!! Don't be caught with your pants down...order today!!!

AirPower returns to the news one more time.

Apple got lucky in that it can't be a "failure of the decade" in 2030.

Lols...

We are talking about a tech that Apple tried to make which they are more than capable of doing so but all of a sudden they cancel it and the reason is not very clear other than saying that its not up to their standard. Which basically suggest that the tech itself is not up to Apples standard. Now if the tech is not up to Apples standard then adding wireless charging to their devices is somewhat ironic.

I sense that once again you think I am attacking Apple on this one and out of nowhere here you are trying to defend them :) Can't we discuss this kind of things without being so dramatic about it. This kind of loyalty to a brand is a little bit scary for me. It's almost like a religion already. Like one of the ten commandments.. do not use the name of Apple in vain :) I admit Apple is doing very well and producing great products but to worship them like that... scary and crazy.

Anyway so much for that.. have a good day.

Hypotheticals can be fun. Can you point to some semblance of proof that Apple was more than capable the AirPower? Or are you assuming (again)?

This is an anonymous internet discussion forum, seems to me back and forth is the norm.

I agree. You start by dropping the hyperbole? Have a good day also.:)
