Pet peeves.

1) When my router decides to crap out on me while not running DHCP. (don't use DHCP, so I can keep the same IP for each computer)

2) Spotlight won't catch misspelling (like if I type Saafri instead of Safari).

3) Windows won't recognize hardware, even after I install the driver for it.

In no real order:

1. People that are simply ignorant about their computer. I swear that 90% of Windows' problems stem from User's ignorancy. Don't click on that, idiot! I understand if you don't know--but I have no tolerance for those who refuse to educate themselves. This goes for the "Macs Vs. PCs" arguement, too.

2. People who touch the screen, use my computer without asking, generally disrespect the hardware, etc.

3. People who don't respond to emails, IMs, etc. I'm hearing impaired, and I can't call you on the phone and talk, nor do I want to. Check your damn email for once!

1. People who think macs are stupid are not fast or have the latest technology.
2.People who buy those dells that they advertise on the TV adds "get the new intel pentium prosccer with a free 17" LCD flat panel upgrade for on $399".
3.People who have never tried a mac and will refuse to try them.
4. People who think Apple only makes ipods but not computers (the best computers)

YES! that drives me crazy

2. People touching my LCD screen

3. people eating, then trying to borrow my computer. WASH YOUR HANDS FIRST :p

1. People critizing me for using a Mac when they have never even used one (i.e. my friend Barry, he still refuses to use iTunes because its a Mac product!)

2. People that use my computer and don't have the decency to put it to sleep afterwords (this happens to my poor iMac G3 that has been demoted to a giant jukebox/web browser with it sometimes running nonstop for days at a time)

3. Fan noise! Is a jet landing in my room?! No wait its just my iMac G5 Rev A!

4. People touching the screen!

5. People F***ing with my system preferences when I'm kind enough to let them use my computer!

6. My current printer/scanner.

1. SPAM (I hate it, I absolutely hate it)
2. MS-monopoly.
My dept still buys MS/intel machines just because they always have done so...morons... we spend a fortune trying to keep the network secure. Last great deal was buying MS office subscription for $20k/year. We are less than 100 people and we have edu discount!!!!
3. MacKichan procrastination regarding porting scientific workplace for OSX. Does it really have to take more than 5 years????!!!!

1. The small percentage of the human race that will try anything to convince you that Windows XP is better than Mac OS X when he or she has no reasons to support their thought. There's this guy who keeps creating screen names to say "Macs suck money farts" to me, and I just told him to go get a life.

2. Geeks who confuse people and make them feel like technology is intimidating. My sister is technologically scarred because of years of bad support at the geek squad by her college.

3. People who think other people knowing anything about computers are complete dorkheads, when quite honestly, I couldn't tell you how to make a web page with all that HTML jabber. Sure, I could learn, but I'm into more creative things, such as video editing, which is one of the cool things about Macs that PCs don't have.

1. Un-returned e-mails:mad:
2. Mysterious glitches that pop up for no apparent reason, then just as quickly dissapear, no matter how hard you try to reproduce them
3. Computer cheating at single palyer games, and not letting me win! :D

1. People who print emails to show it to me.
2. People who think Apple is "that iPod Company"
3. And yes, spam is my nemesis too.

Since when were PC's incapable of editing video?

Well, whenever I cross paths with those smartass PC people who are my #1, they think WindowsMovieMaker is the best, and it's rubbish. I can't stand it. Even iMovie is so much better in my opinion. Instead of simplifying everything to the point where it's confusing like MovieMaker, iMovie lays out a video track and two audios instead of splitting out graphics, sound effects and songs, etc.

Oh, I have a number 4:

#4: People who call me materialistic for having gadgets. I was the first one in my school to get an iPod, and everytime my religion teacher would talk about materialism, they'd stare at me and mumble something about my iPod, camera flip phone, TV, etc. when now they all want (or have) and iPod nano and will do anything to get a camera phone. I'll be killed if I get a Sidekick, but alas, they'll all want it after I make it another one of my little trends.

1) People that don't understand computers.

I'm not talking about people who aren't computer geniuses, or even people who don't know the difference between a modem and a computer tower. I'm talking about the people that need to be told how to do something, or have something explained to them, over and over and over. Yes, computers are complicated. No, they are not hard to use.

2) People touching LCD screens.

Mine especially, but I even cringe when someone at Best Buy pokes at an LCD. Horrible.

3) People who immediately blame the computer when something doesn't work.

Most of the time, when something goes wrong, it stems from something the user did at one time. The computer is just a tool following instructions, it is not intelligent. It is never "wrong" or "stupid". Sure, sometimes hardware goes bad or software is buggy, but when you disable cookies and suddenly cannot login to check your email, calling the computer a piece of sh*t probably isn't the answer.

4) People that waste their time comparing Mac's to Windows PC's.

I hate this enough to break the rules and create a fourth answer. Most PC users that actually give a damn either way aren't ever going to see it our way, nor will most of us ever see it theirs. There is no sense in arguing about it. If you want a PC, get one. Enjoy it. If you want a Mac, get one. Enjoy it. Why should anyone care what anyone else does?

I see, so I take it that WindowsMovieMaker is the only video editing software available for PC? You compare it to Apple's iMovie, so I'm assuming you use iMovie? Call me crazy, but seeing as how you probably use third-party software on the Mac for your editing needs, I can only assume you are aware that there are other programs out there for PC that get the job done just fine.

5) People who pretend that Mac's are the only machines that are capable of anything beyond checking email and looking at porn.

Ya, that, and the other side: the "wubbya, wubbya, wubbya" people who burn up 1.6 seconds of life when giving out URLs.

!. The state of digital video formats- too many competing players, formats, versions, plug-ins, incompatibilites... should it really be this confusing?

2. People who simply must close whatever window they have open before opening something else, as if they don't understand that windows can sit on top of eachother, or that a computer can do more than one thing at a time.

3. People who do not understand that files can be kept somewhere else besides the desktop.
