But to be honest MR has become part of my daily life. It’s 4:38 am here and I can’t sleep. So what do I do? Pop on MR.
You can find me here on MR at various points of the day from the time I get up to the time I go to bed. I do the work I actually get paid for around my frequent MR drive-throughs.

It's been that way since 2011 when I joined, it's been that way in some form or another since 1985 when I created my very first BBS account.

Like you, MR is a part of my life. And not just here, but in other places as well. Without an online presence I wouldn't have the friends I do in a lot places worldwide - because I would never have met them.

Online communities have been my life since I was 15 and that connection is something I value strongly.

This forum is the second one I have stayed with for a long period of time. The other one I was a member of first shut down. It was not tech based like MR and it also didn't have the kind of huge traffic MR does.

MR, as a whole, has been a rewarding experience for me as well. I shall stay until such a time as it is no longer rewarding for me or I die, whichever comes first. lol

Not me. I’m going to come here after I die and haunt you all!

I have a three 27 inch monitors attached to my desktop. The left monitor has the MR website. The center monitor is work related. The right monitor is for gaming. During the day my wife throws food in my direction so I have everything I need in front of me and never need to leave my chair. :p

That day was a win for you, E. :D
Yes…and for her as well, LOL!

She texted me an image of a computer keyboard on Amazon today. It looks like a typewriter with keys that function mechanically like a manual typewriter would. It's an in-joke for us because when I met her, a typewriter was as high-tech as she was willing to go.

When computers came around, she thought they would just be a fad.

Uhm…yeah. Okay. :)

The typewriter keyboard is what Leonard from the Big Bang Theory used for a while with his computer. Your wife may be getting her nerd on, E.

Hey, some of us still use fountain pens (guilty m'lud), Mont Blanc for preference, and, if I could credibly and effortlessly elegantly use a quill without making a complete mess of things, I would.

I have never used a quill but, I have always enjoyed reading text created from them. I don't think I have ever owned a fountain pen. They were too expensive when I was growing up. In our house, a cross pen or cross mechanical pencil was high brow. Is using a fountain pen as effortless as using a Apple Pencil, as to how smooth it writes?

What is this pencil of Apple?

I know it not, not even by repute.

Seriously, I have never laid eyes on an Apple pencil, never writtten with one, have no idea of how it writes, and - candidly - have little interest in acquieing one.

Re fountain pens, I have been using them (daily) since my mid teens, and always use them unless instructed to use a ballpoint pen (for signing certain specific documents).

Personally, I love writing with fountain pens, I love the physical act as uch as the sensation of ink gliding over the page. You need a good pen, and - of at least equal importance - to use good quality paper in order to best appreciate writing with a fountain pen.

The Apple Pencil is for the iPad, specifically for those iPads that support it.

MR could use some new voices, know there are a few as of late that should really try and spend more time here anyway ;). Amazed that I'm still in the top 150 when I'm mostly lurking nowadays.
I think most of those who are registered on MR lurk most of the time, unless it is iPhone release time, when people come out of the forum shadows and post util their phone is delivered. Watch release time is the same way albeit it not as prolific, in my opinion.

Many may be shy and prefer to watch, while others may feel a little intimidated interacting with others who are established and possibly more knowledgeable.
