I don’t understand why AirPods Max are on this list...the 3.5mm Apple headphones deliver a much bigger and broader sound spectrum

View attachment 1703244

3.5mm Apple headphones > AirPod Max > AirPod Pro > Airpods

I scientifically proved it to the Apple employees at my store and they did the test with the A10 iPod Touch that all use for checkouts & they immediately were able to hear the difference in sound spectrum...

Anyone who owns AirPods is a sucker & I know this is going to “trigger” some folks...but the truth shall set you free.

The people who aspire for AirPods are the same people who wear face diapers when driving down the road in a vehicle...
How are those 3.5mm Apple headphones on an aircraft for 5 or 6 hours?

Easy marks...
I sure hope this is sarcasm... otherwise I am going to have to refer you to this site

Since I (finally) got my first Watch, that's gonna be my own "top product."

But generally speaking, I agree that it seems like the M1 Mac in any flavor is definitely the big news and has the greatest potential for thrills in 2021.

So far I'm thrilled with my M1 Mac mini. I've been surprised at just how much faster it is compared with my previous setup (2018 i7 mini w/ Radeon RX 5700 XT eGPU). The M1 is about twice as fast at rendering Final Cut projects for less than half the price of my old system.
That’s good to hear. Although I do not use Final Cut my mid-2012 MacPro is getting pretty useless as a lot of little issues are happening making it frustrating to use and I do still have a 2011 MacBook Pro 17” and although still going strong it is time for some new gear and the Mac mini will probably be my starting point.

Just realized, for the first time in a number of years, I did NOT buy a single new Apple product this year !

If an upgraded & lower-Priced Apple TV was offered, I would have bought that.

Otherwise, just sitting on the sidelines this year.

IMO, the iPad Air 4 is probably the single-best product Apple released this year.

That's the one product I came closest to pulling the trigger on.

Also, intrigued by the M1 Macs, but NOT (enough) at their current prices.

Kind of surprised the $99 HomePod Mini didn't make the cut. Curious how they performed during this recent gift-giving season. Their cable-required-to-function feature is what kept me from purchasing a couple. While it's only a data point of one here, I can't help but feel here is a legit market for a wireless version.

Best product is the iPhone 12 mini IMO. However the M1 Mac is definitely the most important.

I don’t get all the love for the magic keyboard, the trackpad is the headline feature and I think it feels cheap and clunky.

I'm really excited about all of these new products, but the article mentions that the iPhone 12 design is based on the iPad Pro's fresh design with squared-off edges... it's a return to the iPhone 4 design. Why deny it here in MacRumors, a place where most of us know a lot about Apple's history? Call 'em as you see 'em.

For my use...

M1 MBA
iPhone 12 mini
iPad Pro 11" (2020)
Magic Keyboard
AirPods Pro
For my use...

Ipod Classic 160 GB
Ipod Touch 5
iPad Air. The 1st gen one that came out in 2013. Speaking of which...

Introduced in September 2020, the iPad Air is Apple's first device that has a fullscreen display and Touch ID, with a ‌Touch ID‌ fingerprint sensor built into the power button.

... every time I read about the iPad Air, I need to remind myself of that distinction! (wish they used different names but, oh well)

I am surprised AirPods Max case is not #1 ( being sarcastic here )

seriously: M1 MacBooks Air and Pro, unanimously💪🔥
iPad air 4
iPhone mini
M1 Mac mini
iPad Pro 12.9

other Apple products are just o.k..don’t excite me🥱

I agree. The design came long before the iPad. MacRumors should amend their article.

The Magic Keyboard is very nice, but its price makes it a NON starter for me; that one has Total Rip Off written ALL over it !
Seeing how you haven't made a purchase this year, especially being a Developer, your MacRumors card is in danger of being pulled. :p Please spend at least $1K to keep your MacRumors membership in good standing. Your cooperation is appreciated. :D

The M1 chip stands by itself. Apple seems to have a revolutionary chip with amazing performance gains without overheating. IMO this is the huge thing in 2020 from Apple.
I can't wait to see the M1X and upcoming machines in 2021. Well done Apple!

How on earth can you include the Magic Keyboard in this list? Don’t get me wrong, it’s great in many ways and I use it all the time, but that material is HORRIBLE! Yeah it looks good new, but it simply can’t handle a few months of ordinary use without degrading terribly. Seriously, what were Apple thinking? And at that price? Either a massive oversight or absolute planned obsolescence; bad either way.
