On the whole, I'm happy with my X's battery life but I don't understand how the torch could have been using any power. It's not set to blink when I get a message; I haven't taken any photos with a flash and, obviously I haven't been using the phone as a torch. What could be causing this?

Unless it's referring to the infrared sensor on the front used to unlock the device...but that wouldn't be the case with the 8+. A real mystery.

A tad off-topic but does this screen (being Settings > Battery) anywhere show you how much battery you're left with (percentage) when you've got the X, or do you have to start swiping?

Apple...
