Get the 2. You may regret getting the 1 but you won't regret the 2. Always looking over your shoulder and wondering. I'm not making light of $150, that's alot of money, but 6 mos from now that $150 will be gone anyway. You'll blow that on booze and women anyway.

If I was thinking of buying my first iPad today, I would definately wait and get the iPad 2. Since I bought mine last year when it was first released I will wait another year or so.

^^ This is exactly what I thought and did. I mean the iPad2 seems great and all but what I'm using the iPad for doesn't require the A5 processor or any of the bells and whistles the new one has. So i feel just fine with getting the first gen iPad at a discounted price. The only thing I fear is the risk of it not being able to run IOS5 whenever it is released? Anyone here have the same fear as me? Do any of you think that the first gen iPad wont be able to run iOS5 whenever it may come out?

There is also no guarantee that the iPad 2 will run iOS5 when it is released. We won't know that until the time comes. iOS 4.3 isn't even out yet and your worried about iOS 5 already.

If the iPad 1 does all you need it to do now, then go with that, or wait a few days and get the iPad2.
