Nicely done! Toronto man juice is the best kind.

I'll agree with your description of Keith's (the beer description). But it is tasty, and I do miss drinking it.

If you're going to the Cameron House, make sure you hit up Gandhi's for roti. It's just a little further west on Queen street.

Roti? OK, you guys are hittin' me with all kinds of new stuff. What's roti? I thought I'd heard of everything.

Get the chance to meet myself and the inimitable Leekohler!

Sunday Feb 22nd
8 to 12pm
The Cameron House
House band (Pay what you can)

Leekohler is hard to miss, and Iscariot will be wearing a Captain America T-Shirt.

...Hmmm should I? It's only 3km from my condo... or 800m to the Queen St. Streetcar. It does violate my internet meet rule... but damn am I curious!

Oh BTW, roti = yum! It's like Indian food, but uniquely it's own.

It's a type of flat bread, usually Indian or Pakistani.

You could always show up and watch us from across the room o_O

Well roti kind of implies that you're not going to get items like butter chicken, other more ... cookie cutter?... fare. I was told that good roti places often serve up more of the traditional dishes.

Oh and if I did show up and watch you from across the room I'd be the wierdo from the internet... which also violates my 'you can't be the weirdest one in the room' rule. ... 2nd weirdest is ok though ;)

Thanks for the roti def.

Get your butt out and meet us! I've met a lot of the folks on this site, man. We've got some seriously cool people here- a few who visited from across the pond too. Break your rule and be there. It's not like we're asking you to meet us in a dark hotel room or something.

And we do so love to be watched. :)

EDIT- I just looked up the roti photos. We have that here too. I just never knew what it was called. I always go to Indian buffets here, so I never knew what any of it was called. They don't tend to put labels on the food at the buffets. You learn something new every day. ;)

The roti at Gandhi's are these giant burrito-like wraps, filled with curry chicken, lamb, butter chicken, or various other Indian dishes, including veggie dishes. They make it as spicy as you want. I miss that place. Best in the city. It's a little hole in the wall, so you know it's good.

Hit up The Salad King for the best green curry chicken in the city (and so far, better than anything I've found in LA). It's right near the Eaton Centre.

Thanks for the tips! Iscariot and I have already made quite a few plans, but anything you guys add will only help. I've been trying to look up outdoor stuff too, like tobogganing, sledding and such. I was hoping there might be someplace that gives bobsledding lessons. Not having a lot of luck. Please- NO SKIING. I might look like a big, strong bruiser, but I've got arthritis in both knees- so skiing is out.

I don't think you are going to find anything like bobsledding anywhere near the GTA, but the traditional tobogganing spot is Riverdale Park.

p.s. Baring any disaster (or some forgotten event that the wife hasn't mentioned) I'll be there.

Cool! We'll be glad to see ya!

Thanks for the info- that is much better than I was able to find on the net, and is much closer too.

Cameron House is a cool place... But isn't that Oscar night? My friend is having a party complete with food and cocktails. Free alcohol is > than non-free alcohol.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Watch them on your phone. I don't know when I'll be in Toronto again. Oscars will happen again next year. :)

<3 lentil and spinach roti.

The Salad King is practically an institution, like 7 West.

It's actually kind of surprising how many cool toboggan locations there are in the downtown core. Christie Pits, Trinity Bellwoods, and quite a few midtown and uptown too.

Remember to wear a superhero themed t-shirt :3

They better have Mill St. or Creemore Springs beer at this pub. Oh ok, anything will do. And nachos.

Cameron house is awesome, but I don't think they have any pub grub on Sundays :( We're going because the house band (Jazz cabaret) at 10:00 is amazing.

Who watches the Oscars still?

I'm more interested in the food. Any excuse to drink with my friends on a Sunday works for me.

We're gonna eat good, babe.

Why is it so hard to find the damn things on line?

Of the utmost importance! :) And no doubling up! Come with a different shirt from ours!

Iscariot- Captain America
Abstract- Superman
Me- Batman

We need a Green Lantern for sure. :)

Hmm currently the only thing that I have close to that is my Sin City themed "Katie's Club Pecos" bouncer t-shirt. Close enough?

If that' doesn't do I'll have to find something in a green lantern maybe... luckily I think I know where to get them.

ooooh 10 days to go now! ;) I'm headed out at lunch and I'll browse for suitable attire (t-shirt). I like the idea, but I might be stuck as the bouncer if I can't find anything else.

Of note I might be fashionably late (8:30ish) as I'd be coming from a family dinner ... something about my father-in-law teasing my nieces and nephew with some story that it's his birthday on the 22nd of every month. To tease him back the kids suggested having a birthday party for his 847th month!

I hope Raid remembers. Actually it doesn't matter, but I figure if I'm going to meet MR people, I may as well do it all in one go.
