Port Forwarding, Ignore the message above.

Ok so I DO have a router, and I've logged into it. The interface is different than in the instructions described above so I was hoping that someone could help me enter the correct fields.
When I log into the router, I click on "advanced", then "port forwarding". Then I get a screen that asks me to enter:
- Application
- Source IP address
- Destination IP address
- Destination port start
- Destination port end
- Destination port map
- Protocol (TCP, UDP, or TCP & UDP)
- & Source Netmask.

It gives the "destination netmask" as: 255.255.255.255

Can someone please explain to me what I need to enter for these fields? Yeah, I'm an idiot!

Ok guys, I'm completely new to Mac and pretty computer illiterate in general. This is my problem: My port is stealth. I have no router (I don't think), as my computer is connected directly to my modem using a DSL connection. I am using a MacBook 3,1 with Mac OS X 10.5.2 (Leopard). In my system preferences, I have allowed incoming connections for Transmission, but I am still getting very low download speeds (no more than 5 k) and moderate upload speeds (about 80 k). You're probably laughing at me right now because I have no idea what I'm talking about, so I was hoping someone could explain this to me in a way that I would understand.
I should also point out that I also use Vonage voIP through my DSL connection. Is that a router? Is this going to be infinitely complicated? Please help me!

Ive worked it out, and yes the vonage would be acting as a router, so either disconnect the vonage when looking to download and go straight into the modem, or find your username and password that came with your vonage service and use input your ip address into a web browser to get to the router screen, using the username and pword. the rest should be in the comments above

irritating problem

hey guys...
I have a pretty irritating problem; I downloaded transmission for use on my new imac and it didn't work. I fixed the 'stealth door' problem, it's now open, but transmission doesn't work anyway. I thought it could depend on the Transmission, so I checked by downloading Azureus, and that doesn't work either. What is the problem? (I have a router).

Port forwarding, static IP address problem

I think my issue is assigning my MAC a static IP address. I have a wireless network setup in our house and an ASUS WL-520GU wireless router. I have tried port forwarding via the portforward.com website but the port still says closed. In my AirPort settings it says:

Configure IPv4: Using DHCP with manual address with the relevant IPv4, Subnet Mask and Router all entered.

Configure IPv6: Automatically

In my router, the WAN connection Type is Automatic IP.
Under IP Config/DHCP Server, under "Manually Assigned IP List" - is this where I should be manually assigning the MAC address of my MAC to a static IP address?

Under "Status & Log/DHCP leases" of my router it has the MAC address of my MAC with the assigned IP address and is says its a Manual Lease.

I'm not sure where I have gone wrong...
