Lets say I want to download a really big torrent that's split into seperate files, and I just want one of those files. Which app will allow me to do this? Because uTorrent on the pc will let me but not on the Mac.

Honestly, I don't like Transmission. It doesn't really have the functionality of Vuze. Now, Vuze is not perfect. Yes, it comes bundled with a ton of crap. Thankfully, you can turn that off (although you still have to install the updates for it). It can also be a bit of a resource hog.

To the OP, the best thing to do is just try them all out and decide which one suits you. Uninstall with AppCleaner if you're worried about program residue.

Transmission is working well now. I compared it with uTorrent, and Transmission was faster (torrent with ~200 seeds and ~700 leechers.

Azureus/Vuze is terribly bloated, most users don't need its' advanced features. If you need DHT in a torrent client, use uTorrent (at least until Transmission gets DHT.)

Acquisition costs money, I don't like the idea of paying for a torrent app. It uses an outdated version of Transmission's codebase.

defenetly "transmission". BY FAR

Transmission, use it do I. I tried uTorrent and just found it unnecessary. Too many features I didn't need. Transmission is just a simple torrent app - kind of a watch that just tells time, with no extra fluff.
