Would be incredible and i for one would certainly love it. Would be hell for developers though and i doubt Toshiba could keep production. Not to mention final decisions for screens were probably made months ago.

Toshiba shouldn't have a problem with demand though. Remember the article in the beginning of the year where Toshiba and Apple were rumored to have struck a deal and Toshiba was investing $1.2 billion in facilities to meet demand. Here's hoping.

Why would they do that? An HDTV can display a 1080p image and a 720p image on the same screen. Even though they are two different resolutions, both fill the entire screen and both look good.

Really bad comparation, you know that 720P looks fine on a 1080P screen because they use the same ratio, right?

Imagine the actual iPhone as an old 4:3 movie , and the new iPhone is a 16:9 screen, how can you make the 4:3 look good in the 16:9? with black bars...

This is exactly one reason I want a move towards widescreen as opposed to the iPhone's 3:2 ratio. Square is out, widescreen is in.
