When did you buy it? You have to open it up and tell us what chipset it's using. This is the first time I'm hearing or seeing a Toshiba SSD in a 2013 Macbook Air. The good news is that Toshiba is using a Marvell Controller for is PCIe SSD drives that I've seen. Good Luck, and OPEN HER UP!

My 2013 MBA 11" I bought yesterday has a 128GB Toshiba.

Well you will need to understand the fact that it is an issue with hardware compatibility between Toshiba & Apple. It is very much obvious that the same sandforce controllers with other OEMs are not faulty!

You know your talkin' ragtime - right:confused:

Hey... I've just had a 2013 replacement after my 2012 model went last week... when I checked, I also have a Toshiba SSD in the new MBA - it's listed as: APPLE SSD TS0256F

Does this mean I'm likely to encounter the same problem...? Was relived they'd replaced my machine, but now worried again... :/

AFAIK, 2013 Toshiba SSDs seem to have a hybrid Toshiba/Marvell controller. Not the crappy Sandforce! Besides, Toshiba does make decent SSD's. The 2010 & 2011 MBA's with Toshiba SSD with Toshiba's own controller have been very reliable so far. OF course, some will fail, but none to the extent that the Toshiba/Sandforce drives have failed.

the 2013 toshiba drives with marvell controller are pci express based so thats not what we are getting as replacements.
