I can't do Touch ID, something about me putting my finger print on my home button I really can't stand.

How are you touching the home button now WITHOUT putting your fingerprint on it? Using gloves?

----------

Coming from the 5 I'm amazed how well the TouchID works. I never used a passcode before but this is so easy and fast, it's a no brainer! :D

:apple:

Right! :)

It's longer to NOT use security. It takes longer to press the home button and swipe (and also leaving my phone open for anyone to access) than using touch id (and additionally having my phone more secure).

No brainer.

Now using my iPad feels like such a chore. LOL

All that said, it's my understanding that Touch ID has been significantly improved since it's initial release on the 5S. That isn't to say that it was bad on the 5S, but I think we are getting the advantage of using Touch ID on superior hardware than its original release.

On my 5S, it failed to read maybe once out of every 25 scans. On my 6 it has failed once or twice since launch day (probably a couple hundred scans).

So you can say that it went from awesome to awesome-er! :D

You can pick what finger, or even what body part you want to use for TouchID. Right now it only works on my right thumb. I could have used my elbow, my nose, or even my schlong.

And it won't work just by 'lifting a print' and showing that print to Touch ID - it's much more complicated. So there are no worries. It's much easier for someone to get into my house by stealing my house keys (or even taking a picture of them) and copying them than my finger print!

Someone will figure it out. Always do. I don't just mean for your phone. But someone said everything will have Touch ID. Big ticket items like car thefts etc.

I love touch ID! Until recently I had to use a 6 digit passcode at work in addition to swiping first. I'd buy the phone just for this feature.

It has already figured out how to steal you car and break into your house. It's super simple.

Touch ID will make it harder to break into stuff and steal stuff, not easier. Nothing is fool-proof, and nobody is thinking that Touch ID is perfectly secure.

One of the best features Apple has ever done, IMO. Coming from the iPhone 5 to the 6, it feels amazingly simple and quick.

When I turn it on, I use the power button and swipe. If I go to an app, I'll put my finger through my shirt and push Home. But if I do mulitiple things, I have no choice but to put my fingerprints on it but find myself wiping it down right after. I have a big OCD problem.

Just got my new iPhone 6 - first experience with Touch ID.

I _WAS_ clicking the home button, then swiping (like I was used to), then hovering over the Touch ID button to get in.

Then I found that all you really have to do is click the home button, then keep your finger hovered over it for another 1/4 second, and you're in.

So much simpler! Easier than even a swipe without a passcode! Love it!

Get with the times bro Touch ID has been around a long time. Cool story thx for sharing about this HIDDEN feature

Touch ID success rate

I find my touch gains access about:

95% of the time on my iPhone 5s

50% of the time on my girlfriend

And she wonders why I love my phone so much.
