Can someone who had the iphine 5s and the iphone 6/6plus, comment on the speed difference if any between unlocking the phone with Touch ID ?

Thanks in advance.

As in same speed/makes no difference/slight improvement/huge improvement?

The entire Touch ID process is noticeably improved from the 5s. Not only is the registration process much faster, but it takes less than a second for my 6 Plus to recognize my finger from a sleep state. It arguably works better than any other fingerprint scanner out there, whether on a phone or even a laptop or security lock for an office building.

Mine is super quick too, I would say less than half a second.

I press the home button and quickly release it but keep the finger on it. Instant unlock.

Yeah I also came from a 5 and touch ID was new to me. Out of habit I still swipe the lock screen every time, need to learn that's not necessary anymore #

Too bad it only recognizes 1 finger, which makes sense but I never gave much thought to it before. I always assumed you could use any finger to unlock. I have it set to both my thumbs just for convenience.
It can take up to 5 fingers.

I also came from the 5 and love the touch ID. I think its so much more convenient and quicker than the pass code. I may be a lil biased as I have a 6-digit code for my passcode.

It can take up to 5 fingers.

I know but I never realized that you had to do that. I always subconsciously thought all your fingers had the same print, instead of having 10 unique prints.

It makes sense giving the matter more thought, obviously, but it somewhat took me by surprise.

Yes,i really like touchID on my I6,is fast.

I checked touchID on a S5 and it reads ok but is not so fast because is necessary to move finger across sensor.

I never use password on my previous iphone since it is not convenient. With Touch ID on iphone 6 Plus, I unlock the phone so fast that I don't even feel it is there. it is as fast as my previous Iphone 5 swiping without password.

Touch ID is one of the key upgrade features of iphone 6 Plus. even more excited with Apple pay. I am tired of calling my banks to send me a new card everytime I heard retail lost customer data: Target, Home Depot, now Kmart

Almost too fast on mine. I don't even have a chance to read my lock screen notifications.

The only time it says "try again" is when I pull it out my pocket and my thumb spins on the home button as I turn the phone around.

See, that's weird, b/c for me (coming from iPhone 5), it is a little slower than I expected. Mine usually takes 1-1.5 seconds. I never get an error, and it always registers, but it's almost always a little more than 1 second.

Same. Just a tad slower. But its insanely accurate. While my 5s was pretty good, the 6 will actually read my fingers and thumb upside down! I did the edges when I registering the fingers and thumb but not even to a right angle. The 5s would never accept anything past the angle I registered it at.
I was actually worried that the Touch ID was stuffed and just accepting everything, but it definitely wont accept anything not registered.
(still doesn't like wet fingers though.)
