Right away when I saw that Apple released the Ipod touch from the beginning I knew I had to get one right away because it would easily replace my Palm Tungsten E2. The Palm was great for it's time but now it's too slow and you can't do all the things you want on it. You had to convert videos to watch on your palm pilot or you can't use certain features because there wasn't enough available memory which was problematic for myself. The only feature I will miss is the word processing feature but I can live without it now. Im happy with the Touch especially with the 2.0 update. More applications will be made and hopefully more will be free.

Actually, good news!! DataViz is working on a Documents to Go for Touch/iPhone!

As soon as the iPhone gets
- at least a 4MP Camera,
- a word processor,
- a PowerPoint-type app,
- an Excel-type app,
- video camera support,
- FULL Bluetooth support,
- Skype app, like Fring for example,
- Solar powered battery (along with a super-duper long-life rechargeable battery that lasts for more than just 6 hours on the web!),
- Flash support, with options to turn full, basic or no support on or off,
- A FireFox-like web browser,
- Downloading of Podcasts on-the-go (www.podcaster.fm does this, but I would like it incorporated into the iPod app),
- ummmm.... I'll edit this space when that feature I wanted comes back to my mind... probably when I go to bed... ;)

THEN, and only then, it will replace my Apple iMac! Yes, my whole computer! I find I use it more than my Mac these days!

You have to convert videos for the Touch/iPhone too. For some people that platform may work fine, but for users who need a lot of features as described above it doesn't cut it yet. Also I wouldn't describe any of the Palm units I've owned as slow. I have other issues with them, but they still do the PIM stuff better than anyone (MUCH better than anyone), and they're still fast.

I've been shocked they haven't announced anything yet. I really thought they would have shown it off back at the very first announcement months ago.

Once they get that and a few more features they'll be about there.

I don't think the iPod touch's screen is big enough to efficiently handle mobile iLife and iWork. We'll see though.

I'm waiting for the mini-tablet to deliver just that.
