Thinking back, I felt like it was going to be a gimmick that probably wouldn't work with enough reliability to be useful. Apple certainly proved me wrong, going back to entering a passcode or an unreliable fingerprint scanner would be a complete deal breaker for me.

There are a number of phones now that fingerprint scanning on par with the iPhone. They did for a short time have the most accurate though.

Link? Pretty sure the Nexus only appears faster because the animation to unlock is faster.

I would say the 12mp camera and force touch.

Force touch is #1 in my book.
