All I want is a keyboard that switches the keys to upper/lower case depending. Why on earth thats not in the standard keyboard escapes me, its pathetic its not there. Roll on iOS8 hopefully there will be one of those in a heartbeat. I had it when I was jailbroken on 6 and really miss it.

What now, fandroids ?

I have had both android and ios. Can we at least be realistic about the situation? I had android in 2009 and I had Swype on my phone. You boasting about this and squawking is quite embarrassing to you and apple.

This should have been a feature a long time ago. If this was implemented around the same time (2009) then I would agree with the Apple fanboyism, but be realistic about the situation.

A lot of the features Apple are implementing is a huge rip off straight from Android. I remember when I was looking at the iPhone 4 in 2010 and I couldn't believe there wasn't a notification bar/pulldown screen. I didn't buy one till they updated it.

I am wondering if I'll have the option to explore the filesystem, save files, and send more than just a picture over E-Mail. I may switch back over if they loosen the chains a bit and will allow me to save files to the phone and send docs/pdfs without having to save it to the cloud.

I'm so used to actually typing out words when I send a text or email that I don't know if I would even use a swype keyboard when iOS 8 is launched. I would probably try it out, but I would probably stick with the more conventional method.

Trust me - seriously, TRUST ME - if you know where the keys are without looking, you will love this. It is the only thing Android had over iOS (IMO, of course). Years later and it is still the only thing I miss. I can't believe Apple opened up the keyboard for devs - never saw that coming...ever.

But if you know where the keys are, or you're a decent typist, you will love any of these new alternatives. It's awesome holding your phone, swyping again, NOT EVEN LOOKING, and it gets what you want 100% right.

I'm upgrading from the ip4 because I want these keyboards.

Its funny how many sheeple seem to think swyping is 'confusing' or 'not fast'.

Like listening to someone from the 1900s taking digs at cycling.

I don't know what a "sheeple" is, but maybe you made a typo with your swiping keyboard?

Lots of people think the iPhone keyboard isn't fast, though some people are incredibly fast at using it. So finally having a choice here will be nice especially for people who never took well to the iOS one.

Just like others have stated, swyping is something I really miss from Android. It's a killer feature and for me, it made it easier to type out words correctly. Who knows though. Maybe Apple's new keyboard will solve my problems too!
