Hi All,

6 month ago I got the macbook pro 13" when it was still called the macbook. I have recently noticed that the bottom strip of the track pad doesn't register any touch or movement when i run my finger accross it. It only really applies to the bottom half centimetre or so. is this normal?

cheers!

I'd never noticed it before, but I just decided to test it and the same thing happened to me, bottom half centimetre doesn't register anything.

15" early 2009 MacBook Pro here... I'd say it's normal.

Now, isn't that odd... Same here on 17" ubMBP Early 2009.

However, I did find it actually does function - within limits.

Try this: it will work if you reach that area during a move. Start moving the cursor mid-trackpad, then continue the move to the bottom and across. I found it will continue to function properly, as long as the direction of movement stays the same. However, if I initiate a movement in that area, it doesn't register.

Very strange. I would never have noticed if someone didn't point it out.

yeah. it doesn't work in mine either.
i have a Macbook Pro 13'3 2.53GHz. bottom 1/2 cm or so portion of trackpad doesn't work. but it does function when tracking is initiated from another point of the trackpad.
probably normal ..
