I personally find the Magic Mouse too shallow. My hand arches more than the mouse so it is really awkward to use. My hand doesn't really rest on it like it does other mouses

for gestures is a mute point i find it useless i just got a logitech m510 mouse which i finding a joy to use as it fits my hand better i looked at Logitech touch mouse and it is to shallow why is all the multitouch or touch style mice not as thick

I bought my first mac mini last year and chose the trackpad. I like the ability to use all the gestures such as pinch and zoom, drag windows with 3 fingers, etc. It just feels natural with Lion. The only downside is that after a while my finger tips get cold and feel numb so I sometimes revert to using a bluetooth mouse. I tried the magic mouse last week for while at bestbuy and really liked the gestures on it but I don't regret buying the trackpad.

I use both, but 90% plus is using the trackpad. I bought a magic trackpad to go with my MBP when i have it on my desk and am using an external keyboard.

Only time i use a mouse is for gaming or precision work...

Seems to be there is a lot of people that use both. I love the magic mouse for media editing, although I am using my bamboo tablet more and more. I still like my trackpad as its nice and all it just doesn't have the accuracy of the magic mouse, and the gesture integration is nice.
