Which do you guys use more often on the trackpad, the tap or the click?

I don't own a MBP yet but whenever I try it out at the Apple store I've always preferred tapping it - less force required to push the thing down.

The only time I use the "click" is when I need to drag something (I don't like the tap-drag option).

my clicking thingy broke somehow, so i exclusively tap (not getting it repaired atm because it needs to get sent in).

Tapping definitely - I find clicking to be really slow compared to tapping, maybe it's just a mental thing.

I voted for click because I used a windows computer between this and my last mac, so I'm just more used to it. Mostly, though, I use my mouse.

I think it varies by day but generally I prefer being able to tap.

Both but tap 75% click 25%.

I do think I tend to click more if its a submit button.
Weird never really paid attention till this thread. :)

I absolutely HATE tapping... it is so horrible.

me too! i have only PCs right now, but i hate tapping it. i like to have the feel of the click, and it reassures me that it registered if the action takes a second. apple probably spend a hundred grand designing a trackpad that clicks like it does, why waste all of that.

Tapping for sure, I hate the sound that clicking makes. But I don't have tap and drag on, I have to click and drag otherwise I am always randomly dragging stuff if its tap and drag.

Tap. It feels unusual at first but you eventually get used to it. Now I can't go back to clicking, in fact it annoys me that people actually click hahahaha

Click of course. Absolutely hate tapping. I turned it off both from my macbook and regular windows based notebook.
Also dragging while tapping is very limited (and the scrolling once you've reached the edge is really annoying in my opinion).

That being said, Click FTW!

Tapping<3 I too hate it when people click:p

Only thing I don't like about the OS X implementation is that of tap to drag. All clicks are then delayed, waiting for the extra tap to drag. I've never experienced this on any Windows laptop; it's always instantaneous.

+1 for tapping. It drives me nuts when I have to use someone else's MBP and I have to click.

Interesting how strong the emotions are running on this one.

Tap to click is horrible on Windows, so I'm pretty used to clicking. After clicking for almost 2 years, I feel that it's faster to have my thumb to click and my fingers to navigate, rather than having to lift my fingers each time.

Tapping still feels more natural though.
