I’m looking for something to use with Apple Watch. I’m trying HRV4TRAINING , still not sure how to read it .

Stryd works with Apple Watch or maybe you ment without extra hardware. You can get running Power without extra hardware with power2run app, the result matches relatively fine with stryd in my very limited testing.

Must check HRV4Traing, but Running Otaku had a video about HRV the other day.

HRV4TRAINING gives you insight into CTL, ATL etc and gives a view of “Readiness to perform” (which I believe is broadly equivalent to TSB), syncing the previous day’s activities from Strava.

To calculate these you need to give it a metric representative of training load...as a Strava subscriber I use Relative effort but you can use duration x relative perceived effort

Additionally, Strava have Fitness&Freshness in their Summit Training option.
Not sure if this was always there but they emailed about it today...maybe it just came to the app.

In the app they graph “Fitness” which seems to be broadly equivalent to CTL.
On their website you also see “Fatigue” (ATL) and “Form” (TSB).

Probably you can use “Form” as an indication of how ready you are to perform...should ideally be slightly positive going into race day and it will go negative indicating extent of rest or recovery required.

Anyone heard of or tried MioPod? Heard it for first time on DC Rainmaker website. It looks like FirstBeat metrics are baked into the app. I’m thinking you would wear the HR monitor for workouts and use their app for the metrics. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

On a similar topic to training stress, I have installed but not used it yet, has anyone got experience of “Power2Run” which seems to give an estimate of running power in Watts, WITHOUT a footpod.

Intriguingly if you use it for a treadmill run, you also get the ability to dial the crown to match the treadmill speed, which I think is pretty unique?? No idea what if anything this does to the underlying activities when saved in the Health system, or if it’s just used for displaying better metrics “live”?

Note: It says in the store description that Apple Watch functionality is an IAP, but I actually installed the app from the store directly on the Watch and its free and works fully🤷‍♂️

I have it and I have Stryd. But currently my focus is not on running, so I only have limited experience. But Power2Run does seem to work and produce credible results. However i prefer Stryd, if I have it with me. I gives more metrics. But there is a also a big big big price difference and Power2run is a good backup. However on threadmill I find it cumbersome to adjust speed all the time, while stryd knows how fast you are running, maybe even more precise than the threadmill it self. However it doesn't know the inclination, so you will have to keep that updated, which can be done during exercise.

Can't comment on how the pricing of Power2Run works, since it seems to have changed since I bought it. I gave around 12.5$
