i preordered two verizon iphones on the 3rd. recieved one on the 7th, and the other on the 8th. I signed 2 contracts for the 2 lines, which are on a family share plan. I then decided i wanted to switch to AT&T since they have faster data speeds. I called customer service and the lady told me i couldnt return it at a corporate verizon store, but that i would have to ship it back. i then called again and a man told me i could return it with no problems. I then called my closest corporate verizon store to verify if i could, and they said yes, with no problems. I then drove, 30 minutes, to my closest verizon store, and tried returnig the phones... they told me i couldnt so i called customer service... a man told me he would call the store and fix it. he then tells me to go inside the store again and the the problem is fixed.. i go in and get denied again.. i then call again and got a $20 credit for the gas i spended. i also got my 2 $35 activations fees refunded since i tried to return the phones within 3 days.....
so now I am stuck with verizon service til they recieve my iphones, which i will send tomorrow..... it takes 1-3 business days to ship, then 7-10 days to process... are u kidding me??? i will have to be paying my service , and by then the 14 days will pass so i can return my phone... this is bull !!!
I am currently on the line with customer service on hold....
So, it's their fault that you ordered two phones that you ultimately didn't want, and thus cost them a lot of money in wasted admin charges? You are getting it sorted out and with gas compensation, so what's the big deal?

Its just another AT&T troll that has to whine about Verizon...

He pre-ordered two phones, got them both and didn't care for them because if people here aren't getting 10mbps upload/download speeds they aren't happy. Called Verizon and they told him that he could RETURN them by SHIPPING THEM BACK. He obviously wasn't happy with that so he called AGAIN. Then tried to return it and couldn't and had GAS COMPENSATION and activation fees REFUNDED...and now he is complaining about it taking time to ship items across the country and have them sorted at Verizon and applied to his card. I think Verizon did more than enough for you, if you didn't want them because of slow data then that is your fault not theirs...do some research next time and some blaming people for your own incompetence.

Verizon deserves a big fail if purchases made online or over the phone can't be returned in store. AT&T allows you to bring equipment purchased either online or over the phone to any COR store to be returned or exchanged. Seems like verizon would follow suite since they almost always follow each others policies! And who cares if he is returning/cancelling service, that is why there is a return policy. He shouldn't be looked down upon for doing something a company allows him to do. If verizon and AT&T were worried about admin costs and hassle they wouldn't offer a return policy in the first place.

Shouldn't be complaining about a company that was letting him return it, even refunded him things they didn't have to.

hey guys... i did get the phones returned to the store after all.... it took me al ong time !! i have the right to return the phones dont i? if i was not satisfied? no matter if i had em for a little bit of days...
yeaah.. im really impatient lol... i dont know why..
but i got rid of the phones which should have freed me of my contract and then ported the #'s to AT&T.. now im being charged -696.28.. lol.... they are charging me the ETF.. which is a mistake... damm... now today is going to be a long day on the phone with the reps...

If you are being charged a negative number, they are actually giving you a Credit. Rudimentary math.

ok.. its obvious that all of you that are goign against me,,, are verizon customers and fans...
i am not a fan of any company ! i just want the company that suits me best. i got verizon, i didnt like it, so what? i can do whatever i want ! if i want to return the phones i can, and cancel the contract. im just trying to see what company is better for me. I'm 18 and this is my first cell phone contract. I dont got much experience. I got verizon and it was a mistake. I already changed to AT&T and i love it. I love browsing the web and being on the phone at the same time.
THank you to all who supported me... and to those who didnt,,, stay with your crappy verizon cdma network.. lol

On the download speeds, that seems to be location dependent. I was getting an average of 156 kbs (yes you read that right) on my Verizon Iphone. My Droid X got 10 to 20 times that speed sitting right next to the ip4. Between 9am - 5pm I was getting 6 kbs. Verizon couldn't resolve the issue and they certainly wouldn't extend their 14 day trial. There is no research that you could do to anticipate these kinds of issues. So I bailed.

I just handed the package to the Fedex driver. The return label is for Fedex Express. They come to your house to pick it up. Couldn't be easier. I would much rather return via Fedex then go through the hassle of returning at a store.

good thing u bailed man...

Someone mentioned here, do your research before you buy. I stayed with Verizon even though I know AT&T has faster download speeds and talk n surf, because of service. I work a ways out of the city and at&t does not have 3G in some areas and has weak signals in the rest. It was funny to have co workers with their phones sit right beside me and have no service.

Verizon has 40% slower down load speeds but it does me no good if my wife can't get a hold of me in case of emergencies.

Apple iPhone is a great piece of tech but is at the mercy of it's service provider
