This is exactly the type of fragmentation that Apple used to try and avoid. Why does only the big phone get the better camera? I have an XS Max, and it's either incredibly uncomfortable, when using with one hand, or inconvenient, when using it with two. I was wanting to step down to whatever the XS-size equivalent 2019 phone was when that time came around, but now I have to consider whether the camera is worth the discomfort. If they can't fit all of the features of the big phone onto the small phone, they should ditch those features altogether. Let screen size alone be the determining factor.

These new upcoming features look interesting.

It would be cool if Apple's AR glasses resemble sunglasses. Sunglasses without the camera. People don't like the 'surveillance' aspect of having a camera installed in glasses pointing at them.

I assume multi-tasking will be better in iOS 13 for iPhone. Currently too many open apps makes using the app switching-multi-tasking feature tedious.

As Tim had mentioned earlier that the three years product cycle may complete in 2019 and possible a next generation product may get launched (yea, it can go past all barriers in price) in 2020 if all goes well with the 5G capabilities.

Laser-powered phones... I'm sure that will be the big thing we will be all talking about at the Starbucks.

C Y C L O P S.

Looks good. I'm sure people will whine. I'm sure it'll carry a new $100 premium.

The iPhone is rapidly becoming a camera with a phone built in. That's a lot of tech (and expense) for photos and videos.
How else do you expect people to share the banal lifestyle they lead on Instaface and whatever crud they refer to as food they shove down their gob?

So they should intentionally gimp the bigger phone when it could be better because Apple has more space to work with? That’s stupid. Bigger phone should have more ram and faster processor as well vs smaller XS.

Continuing the XS/XR split will only damage their bottom line. Its a bad play. Sell the top of the line model at the XR price and kill it in the market.

Decent cameras cost at least as much as an iPhone, and many have even more tech.

no one asked for 3 lens camera..it just seems too unnecessary and an obvious marketing trick.
I am asking for a three lens camera, because I can’t use iPhone as my primary camera until it can handle the entire focal range from 24 to 90mm (effective).

iphone sales dropped by 15%... so i'm calling a 150 dollars price increase for next iPhone..
That might be their plan. But not a correct math though. Imagine Apple used to get $100. Now they get $85. To get back to 100, they need to multiply 85 by 100/85 = 1.176. So they have to increase the price by 17.6% not 15%.

For what I paid for my max I could have picked up a 6d II or a 7d II. However, since I'm not a pro, I'll get much more use out of my Max.

To avoid fragmentation, yes they should gimp it if they have to. People shouldn't be made to choose between features, and the ability to use the damn thing without hand strain.

Nah, the perfect size phone is the iPhone SE, if it only had a bezeless screen...

I got the Apple Watch S4 42mm ideal for mini displays.

That's because it has reached to the point where camera and battery life are 2 of the things they can improve.

Several cameras is an interesting way to deal with the space and light limitations of a smartphone.

Still I think Apple needs something more interesting than that

Max is still not worth the huge pricd increase
Totally true. XS max is nothing more than a ripoff. It's big, uncomfortable to hold and its "bigger" screen doesnt really do anything more than XS. Actually, it only display everything bigger, so in reality when browsing a webpage, you dont even see more of a page than you see on the XS. Still trying to figure out what exactly did Apple want to achieve with the Max version.

LASIK eye surgery: now bundled with your iPhone.

Highly unlikely price is increased given sales not what apple hoped
