Hi, I've just been sent a wmv by a friend who runs a pc, and when i open it with 'VLC' it puts up an error message that says:

"main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `WMV3'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format."

Does anyone have any ideas, ie a wmv to avi converter or something?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Did you try the actual Windows Media Player client for the Mac?

hmmm...

Thanks arn, I guess it was pretty silly not knowing that there even was one!!

I'll give it a go...

I don't think it's silly at all - after all, Microsoft does call it WINDOWS media player. :) Doesn't make it very obvious that there's a mac version. ;)
