good tips about half way down the page if you think your 12 is too warm with tru tone on. I made adjustments and am much happier with my display now.

I agree that this can help but it’s really only a band aid fix. Putting a color filter over the entire screen may make your whites appear good but it will logically also effect every other color.

Easy way to see this is to toggle on invert colors when you have your color filter on. Blacks will look green...color filters also seem to reduce brightness quite significantly in my opinion.

Not saying you should be unhappy if you are satisfied with your display now but it isn’t a true fix.

Just got my 12. True Tone is indeed terrible on these OLED displays. It’s waaaaay too warm. Turning it off it looks much more normal. I think that’s why everyone was complaining on other threads about yellow displays.

maybe they can tweak it in a future ios update if enough complaints get made to apple

There’s a caveat. True Tone makes the display cooler in bright ambient light conditions. With it off, my 12 pro display has yellowish undertones in bright light. With it on, the display is a perfect neutral white in bright conditions. Inside, TT makes the screen too yellow. I hate having to toggle it on and off during the day.

Same here. That’s why I believe this can be fixed by SW. if Apple is enclined to do so.

same thing for me, went from iphone x with TT On and was fine, but with iphone 12, it's a bit too yellow. I'm leaving TT off now and it's fine.
I had the same experience when I first got my iPhone mini. I think it looks better without TrueTone. Before the mini, I used TrueTone. And while I noticed it was yellow, I don’t recall it being as yellow as it is now with TrueTone turned on.

I have the same too-yellow problem on my brand new 12 Pro. Super pissed, because I LIKE and WANT True Tone. It was flawless on all my previous iPhones and iPads.

Don't like the messing with tint/hue settings. Solution would be trivial for Apple - just update iOS with an intensity slider for True Tone (exactly the same as we have for Night Shift). In fact - super strange this is not implemented from day one.
