...? From highlighting basic logic to you? If you aren't testing people, how can you possibly expect to know "how bad" the situation is?

You can’t help yourself from leveraging a global pandemic to scream about “Drumpf!!!” Considering you don’t even live in the US, you might want to save some of your indignation for the CCP who failed to contain this virus and allowed it to spread throughout the entire world.

And we’ve been over the testing issue, my friend. Hospitals in the US are coping (for now). You don’t need a test to tell you if your health care system has collapsed. It’s self-evident. This is a very simple concept. A country that doesn’t have control over its borders was never going to escape this pandemic unscathed. The issue now is containing it to a degree that it doesn’t overload the health care system (see Italy). Again, very simple concept.

I mean it says it right there below my name but ok, sure.

I live in Thailand. Population, ~70M. Confirmed cases: 114; ; Deaths: 1Recovered: 35. So, 1 in 614K people have been confirmed infected.

We're talking about the US. Population, ~328M. Confirmed cases: 3737; Deaths: 68; Recovered: 8. So, 1 in 87K people have been confirmed infected.

Could the Thai government (note: not my government, because I am not a citizen and thus cannot vote here) be doing more/better things to alleviate the situation? Yep, you betcha. Have members of this government said incredibly stupid things about the situation? Yep, you betcha. Does any of that change that the US situation is a fluster cluck? Nope. Not at all.

Any more ******** questions?
I can’t speak for Asia as I don’t know what’s going on there. But it is affecting nearly every country in the western world, some worse than others. The WHO considered Europe the global hotspot for COVID-19 at this time. I’ll remind you that the US is not in Europe. Acting as if the US has been hit harder than other western nations is absurd, especially in the face of what is currently happening in Italy. Just completely foolish.

There are way more important things going on in the world right now than your Trump obsession. Try to gain some perspective.

.... The topic of this thread is very literally Trump asking for help, with something he said was nothing to worry about a month ago. If you don't want to hear about his repeated failures, maybe don't read threads that start with "Trump".

... Given how few tests the US has actually carried out, it would be quite concerning if they weren't "coping". For reference, the US has carried out just short of 23K tests as of the 15th. China was able to do 1.6M tests per week a fortnight ago.

One of those important things is a global pandemic, which Trump has basically treated like an annoying ex-wife, and tried to ignore or pretend she isn't real.

And just to clarify it because I know you won't get my point otherwise: this thread is about Trump's response to the pandemic (that was going to 'just disappear' 'like a miracle'). If you want to discuss the **** show of response in other countries, by all means start a thread about it, and I'll join you in highlighting the ****ups that have exacerbated this situation.

Or you can just sit here claiming nothing is Trumps fault, and accusing anyone who dares say otherwise of "making it political" or "wanting the US to fail" or whatever other conspiracy theory ******** is somehow easier for you to believe than Trump, yet again, has ****ed **** up.

We need to quarantine everyone in the US, just like they are doing in Italy. Shut down every non-essential business. Automatically quarantine everyone coming into the country. Just take the 2 week (or so) hit and then we can move on. If you keep dragging it on and on, it will only hurt the economy longer and deeper.

Really? P and R are about as far apart as letters get on the keyboard, how did you **** that up?

Where? Where does it say that? Here's the full text, for you, btw: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/47/230
I know you don't want to hear this, but what Trump/etc call "alternative facts" have another name, thats been used much longer: "lies".

You can believe those "alternative facts" all you want. That doesn't make them any more true.

Thank you President Trump for signing the social media Emancipation Proclamation yesterday which calls for social media publishers to be held responsible for violating American’s free speech rights and for calling out Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act as requiring a neutral platform to qualify for liability protections. The phone company can’t censor what you say over the phone and Twitter shouldn’t be able to censor what you say on the Internet.

Thank you President Trump for signing the social media Emancipation Proclamation yesterday so that twitter can be held responsible for what’s published on their platform. Looking forward to each and every tweet of you getting a warning label, as it should have been for the past 3,5 years.
