Seriously! 12 years of free education is okay, but more than that is crazy socialism. Even though most older people in this country had the opportunity to attend state universities at minimal cost (also socialism).

Firefighters, military, police, education, social security, medicare, water... all socialism.
Trump supporters oppose socialism if "socialism" is defined as ordinary people's tax money paying for services that support ordinary people. But Trump supporters support socialism-for-corporations and socialism-for-billionaires, which is ordinary people's tax money not paying for services that support ordinary people, but instead going to the pockets of corporations and billionaires.

So when Elon Musk talks about how he supports capitalism, what he defines as "capitalism" is, in reality, socialism-for-corporations and socialism-for-billionaires.

Weird how all the pro-Musk free speech absolutists support 45/47 and Musk using their governmental authority to force media companies to pay bribes to the president through unnecessary legal settlements, intimidate journalists, as well as starting FCC investigations based on their first amendment protected editorial decisions.

Yeah, the Overton window has been shifted so far and wide that I'm not sure folks have quite grasped what they actually signed up for here

I think they do. They just don't care. They'll justify it by pointing out that candidate Biden, who was not in government, asked Twitter and Facebook to take down nude picks of his son that violated their own policies.

And Biden just asked, right? He didn't sue them for having those posts up. Or make government agencies investigate them once he was President.

Lol, missed adding Congress and the ones crying about socialism can't wait to pass go and be able collect. U.S. pre-FDR was not a nice place. The only constant is the rich get richer, middle class gets in more debt and the poor remain poor and all the outrage over wedge stuff will keep the status quo.

I see Americans being numb, indifferent, feeling powerless/impotent, confused, disorganized and ofcourse partly enthusiastic, while a coup d’etat takes place before their eyes. If this new situation in US continues, there will be a third term for Trump or a Trump-like government in the future (I’d say “dictatorship”). Laws can, are and will be changed by current rulers.
I very much hope I’m wrong though.

The discussion seems to have drifted far afield from the topic "Trump Backs Elon Musk as Possible TikTok Buyer, Suggests Government Stake", so the thread is closed.
