Trump you are president just for another 3.5 years , Apple will be forever, dont fight with one of the most powerful company in the world that has all the information about you, stop being just an EGO business man in charge of the USA. In fact you showed the world how "powerful' you are when you said you will stop the war between Russia and Ukraine in 24h

Soooo many issues with this, so I'll take another angle with it. Apple of course does not own their own factories. They contract with others to build their products to their specifications. IF a company would/could come along and offer those services in the US at a competitive price then Apple absolution could or would move them. But they (those companies and therefore Apple) can't.

Does he expect Apple to build a production line overnight? I guess Apple will announce they'll build a production facility in the US, spend 1-1.5 years planning it, drag it on, until he's gone.

that's a risky plan.... quite a few people were predicting that Hillary Clinton would have won, instead of Trump. when Biden won during the next election, it also caught many Trump voters by surprise. then somehow Trump came back for the 2nd time....

who's to say that Trump's successor(whether he likes him/her or not) won't win in 2028 and continue with most of Trump's current policies?

1) People dont want to screw iphones together for $7/hr
2) People dont want to pay $3000 for an iPhone
3) Trumps term would be long over before factories could even be built and staffed

iPhone factories are some of the most advanced, state-of-the-art factories in the world, with high end machinery, tools and automation. It is not "screwing phones together."

The analyst that came up with the $3000 estimate is Dan Ives. Dan Ives and Wedbush are not what you would call a real research shop. Ives is also a fraudster and has been charged by the SEC.

3 is true.

I collect made in China unlicensed transformer toys(3rd party toys) and on a transformer forum I browse, many Maga fans believe china pays the tariffs (lol). In America Congress holds the power of the purse strings, not the president. Trump just made up a fake emergency (ms13 invading USA) to enact these tariffs. I'm surprised Americans let this happen.

Don't forget the skilled workers who amazingly will be up to speed on how to assemble an iPhone.

Make it a three year project, drag your feet into a fourth year, then open it as another server farm for iCloud after the changing of administrations.
They need at least four years to study it anyways. Look how long it took them to build the spaceship.

Tim’s million-dollar inauguration gift clearly didn’t buy him any White House influence. In fact, the opposite appears to be true, he made a deal with the devil, and now the devil is collecting. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Tim Cook is an idiot. It’s time for him to sail off into the sunset with his well-earned retirement millions.

Should have already been transitioning production to the US. Nobody made them do it. Now's the time. Twenty years is long enough.
Do you know how different the maths would make hardware costs for consumers?

Blackmailing the President of the United States, that's a good way to get the entire C-suite sent to a federal penitentiary. Great plan!

Anything Trump announces there always seems to be a climb down or offramp available. I’m not sure what that is here. Maybe that there’s no date attached to the threat? The 50% EU threat had a date of June 1. Not sure what happens here. Tim Cook goes to the White House explains the complexities and infeasibility of manufacturing iPhones here but offers Trump something? Could be investments already announced/planned. Still this is a very specific threat. Maybe Apple does nothing assuming his attention span is so short and he’ll move on to something else?
