I think anyone can see that he was much more concerned with producing and selling a quality produce and user experience above ALL ELSE.
This often cited statement... is how it was only _most_ of the time.
Despite the worshipers wanting to put him on a pedestal and cite his superiority, if he wanted to provide an excellent customer experience he would have listened when his customers complained about problems.
Instead he was extremely arrogant and "in your face" if you so much as mentioned a fault. All one has to do is ask someone who works for Apple and knows what went on behind closed doors.
Even in public... his response to the well documented, (even within Apple, discovered prior to release) faulty antenna on the iPhone 4.
When asked, Steve's response was a very combative, arrogant "you're holding it wrong" comment, suggesting Apple's customers are idiots that do not know how to hold a cell phone.
The worshipers took him at his word, as gospel, then attacked anyone who reported they were experiencing the problem. Those brainwashed to believe that "Apple does no wrong", went down in history as vehemently denying the problem, and spewing venom at anyone who said otherwise.
The good news, is the man at the helm today is devoid of any such immature antics which get in the way of good customer relations.
He's already calmed the waters, and if he would have been in charge a year earlier, I do not believe Apple would have launched the barrage of negative law suits.
Tim Cook is not vindictive or self centered, he's a businessman that knows how to interact with people without talking down to them to feed his ego.
His true talent in a variety of areas has already shown that Apple can be every bit as successful if not more by acting like a professional.
