You guys are cracking me up about the GIRL thing!!:D:D:D:D

I've never heard of MicroCenter...what is that?

judging by your name, you live in ohio?

if so, there is one in cincinnati (i buy electronics there vs. best buy) and i know there is another one in ohio, maybe in cleveland?

I already ue a bamboo and I LOVE it....took some getting used to and is most certainly NOT a mouse replacement, but for working in photoshop it's fabulous.

I have a problem where my hands shake if I try to do anything precision so holding the pen 1/8" above to move doesnt work for me... :( I was really hoping it would

Sis you look at the settings? I wonder if you can change that? Also, and I know this might sound weird, but flip the pen over to the eraser end instead...that works. I have arthritis in my hands (I am young but this is due to being an artist!) and sometimes mine hurt pertty bad. But flipping the pen over helps. :)

I looked it up and there's one in Cinci...I've been to the Apple store there, but had never heard of micro center before. I pulled up the website. :D

It was just a pen, didnt have eraser.

My pen came with an eraser end. Sorry it didn't work for you. I LOVE it!!

yup, they have great buys, also have open package products that people return for whatever reason and they sell them CHEAP anyways, i highly reccomend microcenter, and having been to the one in cincinnati, its about a 30 min drive for me (i live across the river in KY) it was worth it every time vs. best buy.

I live very close to a Micro Center. I love that place. You can't go wrong getting an Apple product there. I prefer trying out the Apple hardware at Micro Center to the Apple store, too many "hipsters" at the Apple store (browsing and working there)

If you can swing it, cash wise, 15"MBP, Hi-Res Matte...I say that only because you're into Art. More true to color, etc.

Get 4MB of RAM, and buy 4MB more via OWC, etc. and pop it in yourself. Takes 5 minutes, and you save a LOT...

My .02 Cents...;)

Approx $1500..........student loan overage the end of Feb/beginning of March :D ...unless someone would like to donate to the help a starving mommy artist fund!!:p:p:p

I'd save a few extra bucks and go for the 2.4GHz 15" MBP. Not because I have that model, but because I think is what fits your needs and budget the best, and best value as well. It's a "full blown computer" with enough pep and screen real estate to use/replace a desktop, yet still portable enough for daily activity with a good battery (so no need for iPad). Good luck.

The computer comes with 4GB:D, in 2 X 2GB chips, so to upgrade to 8GB you have to remove the 2 2GB chips and install 2 4GB chips. OWC will give you a rebate for the original 2GB chips, or you may be able to sell them.

Have you been getting by in art school using Photoshop on a seven year old HP?

You must be very patient.

Yeah, but the poor things is DONE now...So i've been working on the family computer for the last month or so, and THAT has not gone well. LOL
