As timing would have it, Apple has just replaced my June 2010 17" 2.66 i7 model with the current 2.4 version so there is no chance for me to get a 2012 model unless I sell my replacement! Very happy at having a replacement but (hope this does not sound ungrateful!) looks like I missed out on the 2012 models by only a month or so - what bad time Karma!
This Retina display sounds like it will even make the 1900x1200 screen on my 17" look ordinary & I will be very envious if thats the case! If Apple do introduce USB 3.0, then I will be quite envious as I hate the slow nature of USB 2.0 - I would love to have USB 3.0 - I can find very little support for thunderbolt, very few products & they are expensive & no portable hard drives despite best googling efforts!
