The graphics cards are the same chip - correct but they have been binned according to their performance. It's like a lucky dip with GPU's you may be able to overclock it but you can guarantee the heat will increase.

Overclocking in a laptop. Are you serious? You have just paid close to 3k for a piece of technology with no user serviceable parts. If you fry that GPU, you can kiss the logic board and any other components goodbye also.

And as for warranty - no amount of Applecare will save you there...:D

Overclocking will always produce more heat. They are binned because of threshold. So I can see why you say performance but same chip at same clock = same speed. No magic there. A GTX660 @900MHz is the same speed as a GT650 @900MHz.
Some people OC laptops. I don't, but if you are dead set on using a lappy to game anyway why not add that. Fans are on full blast anyway. I paid 2000.00 for mine so... And if the mobo goes then I have Applecare and unless there is physical damage (super rare) check the board, clean it up if needed, uninstall Windows and fresh install your factory OS and take it in. You'll get a new logic board.

I had it running on bootcamp before but I had to delete my bootcamp partition. It runs pretty much amazingly on the Retina macbook pro at very high resolutions. It is not worth it to me to sacrifice that hard drive space though just to play battlefield.

How big was your partition?
