You can try to get your phone unlocked with AT&T, since 4 weeks they unlock out of contract phones, commitment free phones and customers in good standing.

Why don't you give tech support a call and try that first.

Otherwise your only option with that BB is a Gevey SIM interposer:

If you update you need to preserve your BB, use redsn0w like said before.

Interesting.. So, if at&t is able to unlock it, do you know if they would change the firmware? I wonder if I would be forfeiting my jailbreak or anything like that.. I'll definitely look into it.

use tinyumbrella again

just plug it back into your computer and mess about with tinyumbrella. Exactly the same thing happened to me and then "beep", I was back to my lock screen. It was either exiting recovery with or without the TSS serving running that did it. Good Luck

You can try to get AT&T to unlock it if it is out-off contract, call the tech-support number, they'll need your IMEI, if they approve it could be hours or days and it will be unlocked.

Otherwise Gevey Ultra

If you do upgrade to something higher and AT&T wont unlock it, make sure you preserve your BB, 03.10.01 can be unlocked with Gevey.
