Ooohh...my turn...

So today I was out getting some coffee at Starbucks, vanilla latte, and I took a seat with my MPB. There was a guy sitting next to me and to my amazement it looked like he had an iPad. So I of course had to bug him about it so I asked him. He was like "yeah, they sent a few of these out for some field testing." He had the 3G version too. He said he's been going around to common wifi and surfing spots to see how well the iPad works, both the wifi and 3G capabilities. I asked him if I could try it out. He wouldn't let me, said he wasn't allowed to let anyone else use it. We chatted a little bit about it and other Mac stuff. On a whim I asked him about the MacPros and how they are supposed to come out tomorrow. He laughed and said "Check this out." He went to apple.com on the iPad and then manually typed in an address on the apple site and a "New Mac Pro" page opened up. He said that they update the online store a few days in advance so it can be checked for errors, you just need to know where to go. He also aparently does that too. So what I was looking at was the page that will go up tomorrow. I got really excited! I don't remember too much, he didn't leave it up long but I remember seeing the words "Twelve Cores" in big letters. and it looked like the case was a little different with some black in the casing. I also remember seeing FW3200, USB3, eSATA and Lightpeak in the specs. Oh and big surprise! BLURAY!!! Also on the page were 2 new ACDs 30" and 46"!!! He smiled as I giggled and then turned off the iPad. He said "Nice talking to you." and got up and left. So I'm really exctited!!! Can't wait till tomorrow!!:)

lmao... I don't know if I can believe that story. A little too good to be true. I love your creativity though. ;)

The new MacSlows are gonna be priced over $3k for the entry level. This is the new reality with Apple using Intel.

Am I the only one who longs for a (WQUXGA) 3840x2400 display? I realize that an alternative to connector would have to be used to drive it, but it didn't stop Apple from offering the 30". Rememeber the days when Apple innovated and catered to graphics professionals with real jaw dropping products?

There was a time when Steve Jobs could stand on the keynote stage and say that they made the fastest personal computer on the market.

I think Apple is going to keep the attention on the iPad for the time being...maybe a quiet refresh at most.

So my defunct mac pro is being replaced and the order just went through today.. Says 2-4 days as of today for a mac pro... interesting..

I voted Yes just cause I've been waiting at least 4 months. At the end of the year I got a Blackmagic Intensity card to do some HD capturing and my winblows machine doesn't have enough horsepower for it, as I didn't need to use it right away I've waited instead of dumping money in a quad-core, but I can't wait anymore I want a new machine!!!

Was that the one who said that the New Mac Pro would start at $1600? :D

APPLE STORE IS STILL UP AND RUNNING

That means that no Mac Pro updates will take place today. So the waiting and speculation continues....;)

This is what my thoughts are today: there's simply NO WAY that they would take the Store down while the iPad pre-orders are in their first week.

As such, its either a "silent" update, or it will be later ... possibly 3/30, being that that is right before the iPad's 3 April big day.

-hh

it's almost gotta be either tomorrow or at least this month. if not, i think apple is really forgetting about the pro desktop market

I'm thinking it doesn't look good for today or even at all this month. :( I have to stop listening to the various MAC leaks on the rumor sites. They very rarely pan out.

Who knows maybe they just got tired of having to wake up so early just to update their website... You never know ;)

If I remember correctly the latest iMacs came out on a tuesday but quite a few hours later than now.

https://www.macrumors.com/2009/10/2...mac-models-with-21-5-and-27-inch-led-screens/

yep, they got on macrumors only at 12:36 EST (probably 5mins after the website was updated). so don't lose hope for at least another 2 hours ish. it's only 10:10 EST right now

At this point it may be better to loose hope and be surprised , rather than hope and be disappointed yet again.

During that imac release: "The site had been down since at least 7am Pacific time Tuesday and remains down at 9:10am" So that would be 10 am eastern.

Lol for you maybe, I'm not going to buy one, I'm just interested ^_^.

They did update the front page for the iMacs and had videos and lots of new stuff though. They probably won't do too much for the mac pros so there's no need to keep the site down for ages.
