Thanks, do you mind I send your screen capture to Apple, and tell them none of the H264 / HEVC hardware acceleration is working?

I can remove your cMP's serial number if you don't want Apple's engineer see that.
Of course i do not mind and my serial is not a secret (i do not use hackintosh).

But at first let us clear the situation out:

I see that airplay option appeared in display settings (as far as i know it is sign of hardware acceleration support):

Screenshot 2019-03-31 at 01.27.40.jpg

Also, support for DP sound finally appeared:

Screenshot 2019-03-31 at 01.29.24.jpg

I think, maybe Videoproc is not quite suitable to show info on this version of OS?

Are there any terminal commands to check hardware acceleration support?

I assume you already try refresh, but still nothing, correct?

DP sound available in 10.14.4 official release as well.

Airplay should only available for Mac that has hardware acceleration. Is that really working on your cMP?

I don't know any macOS build-in terminal command can check that.

So, Airplay display founds my Apple TV and initiates desktop viewing, but TV`s screen becames simply black and that is all.
Refreshing in Videproc does not work.

I think that Apple engineers should know that -)

Thanks, I will report that to Apple engineers

It seems Apple engineer is really trying to add H264 encode, HEVC encode, and HEVC decode for RX580.

Hackintosh group found this.

[doublepost=1554035820][/doublepost]May I know if both of you have Orinoco frame buffer?
Screenshot 2019-03-31 at 8.36.20 PM.png

So let's recapitulate:

- RX 580 OOTB driver support since 10.12.6 and 10.13.0
- 10 Bit/30 Bit support
- native HDMI 2.0 support since 10.13.6
- Audio support over HDMI and DisplayPort since 10.14.4
- future HEVC encode/decode support (it seems only with Orinoco frame buffer)

The Sapphire RX 580 gets a lot of love from Apple... Unlike the Nvidia cards.

AFAIK, the dual ROM PULSE RX580 8GB V2 card has same ROM part number as the "Apple Blessed" card. That has native Orinoco framebuffer support. This card should be currently selling by Sapphire. However, I am not sure if all V2 card has that same part number at this moment. And I am not sure which reseller still selling V1 card.

Unfortunately, there are now "only" three versions being sold.
11265-05 SAPPHIRE PULSE RADEON RX 580 8GB
11265-06 PULSE RADEON RX 580 8GB
11265-33 PULSE RADEON RX 580 8GB

11265-05v2 was the DUAL BIOS version and it seems it's either no longer being offered, or it has been merged into the specs of another model. None of these three list the DUAL BIOS option that was specifically listed previously.

According to post #15 in this thread:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/sapphire-rx580-pulse-with-dual-bios.2143346/#post-26585680

This particular dual bios still used ATY,AMD,RadeonFramebuffer natively.

I occasionally went to check the PULSE web page. It seems they rarely says anything about if dual BIOS available for the card. Lots of buyers have absolutely no idea their card will have dual BIOS when they purchase it.

I just check the PULSE page again, nothing in the spec, however, have a link about "how to use dual BIOS".

Anyway, it seems not all dual BIOS PULSE RX580 can default to use Orinoco Framebuffer in macOS.

I recently received a 11265-05-20G and it is a dual bios.

What does the PN and SKU on the box say?
Is it ATY,AMD,RadeonFramebuffer or ATY,Orinoco natively?

My RX580 is PN 299-1E387-000SA with SKU 11265-05-20G and is single BIOS (no switch).

This is one I received after ordering and shipped by Newegg, not a third party vendor from their site:

Model: 100411P8G0CL
P/N: 299-4E353-830FA
SKU: 11265-05-20G
html: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202278

I picked it up on sale last month, and they just came-off sale around ~$190'ish if you can wait for the next sale.

Third-parties may ship the same one, I'd just suggest confirming it before expecting it.

VideoProc not even detecting GPU presence on MP5,1 with RX580 in 10.14.4.
If I swap back to High Sierra or GPUs in the next week, will try to remember to test with GTX 1080 FE and GTX 680 Mac Edition.

MP5,1 with GTX 680 Mac Edition (Official EVGA Version):

Same as above, Mojave 10.14.4 18E226.

If anyone actually has paid for VideoProc, reach out to their developers. Show them this documentation (or additional) and ask if/when GPU support will be added in MP5,1. HEVC might not be possible due to CPUs in MP5,1 but H264 should be supported with NVIDIA GPUs from GeForce 8-series (GT 8800 Mac Edition) and forward. This is/was directly from NVIDIA press releases at the time.
