TV Shows - What's Next For Me?

I'd also like to support the earlier recommendation for Band of Brothers, which is truly one of the finest programmes ever broadcast.

Damian Lewis is a good actor, so I'm sure it's very good. I've heard many people say it is pretty epic. It's officially next on my list.

Due to recommendation on this thread, I have purchased the first 2 episodes of Stargate Atlantis from iTunes. I have never watched any Stargate before but have heard it's good.

I'm a pretty bit Star Trek fan (TNG, DS9 and VOY) so I'm hoping I'll like it.

One thing I am worried about though - do I need to have watched the original Stargate show to pick it up?

Anyone in the US should check out Babylon 5 on hulu.com they've got the 1st 2 seaons, it really is very epic, the first 4 seasons are great, the last one is kind of slow but is a good wrap up to the series.

House M.D.
The Office (Actually reccomending the American version, but I haven't seen the British)
Arrested Development

and Scrubs.

The first three have already been covered, but I don't believe anyone has brought up Scrubs yet. Excellent show.

As to the person who mentioned the Sarah Connor Chronicles, I know what you mean but the show just can't hold my attention.

I just finished watching it for the third time and I am not the type to re-watch many things. It is truly epic.

I'd also recommend reading the book.

My brother has lent me his Peep Show boxset, and although I'm only on the second series, I can already recommend it. It's very, very funny.

+1 from me too. Along with Father Ted, Black Books, IT Crowd, Phoenix Nights, I'm Alan Partridge and Spaced it's a comedy I can watch again and again.

I have watched everything you have watched- and I will say that The Wire is the epic drama to end all epic dramas. There is a depth that does not exist in any of the shows on your list, and the writing is brilliant. This may be the best series to have ever been produced.

Deadwood is the best TV show I've ever seen.

Wanted to start the Wire next, but get mixed reviews. Have also been told that The Unit is with my time... anyone seen it and willing to recommend?
