All I want in Apple TV is ATMOS and DTS passthrough but Apple will not allow that till end of humanity as they think it will hurt potential sales of movies. They think people will watch movies stored on home NAS via app called Infuse.
What do you mean by ATMOS and DTS passthrough?

All content I play that is supposed to have ATMOS is recognized as ATMOS by my lg sound bar connected to my tv on the hdmi arc port.
This includes Infuse but not only limited to this app…

I'm surprised that we can actually run out of 64GB storage with Apple TV apps.
I have been getting out of storage messages for years on my 64GB ATVs.

I am very happy that Apple released a 128GB ATV, but I have a feeling that it will be full soon as well, and I will have to start deleting apps and turn off aerial screen savers.

I'm not sure how anyone is even filling up 64GB.
Games can fill up storage quickly. That and aerial screen savers.

The 32GB ATVs' storage can potentially be filled with only about 6 large games.

Streaming apps alone won't do it.

Can’t wait to see iOS iPadOS and macOS filled with these bugs to software lock any new device with 32GB of storage.
Yes I’m a sinister person but identifying wrong model bug cracks the heck out of me lmao.

Not the crippled lossy ATMOS which Apple supports. Infuse will convert DTS-X and ATMOS TrueHD into PCM and pass to your receiver so you will never know if you are getting correct sound or not.

OMG! A software bug on a new device. For sure that's never happened before!

So many people are getting a major case of the shakes that planet Earth just instantaneously tilted an extra 5 degrees. Find your pearls and head for the hills - tsunamis will be hitting land within the next hour.

Not sure why you are saying this.
When I play content identified as ATMOS in infuse for which I know there’s an ATMOS stream, my receiver says ATMOS. I tested a while back… one file with ATMOS and same content that has been captured with Dolby 5.1. I clearly hear a difference besides ATMOS showing for the first option…

in other news "only a handful costumers mistakenly received 64GB models which were packed in 128GB configurations". 😂

Macbook Air M2 256GB-gate.

How much is the ACTUAL cost increase of producing a 128 vs 64 die? I know it can’t be 2x…

So why not produce only 128, a percentage will be partly faulty, those go to 64, the rest needed for 64 get cut down to size in SW (which I don’t see a problem with as you’re paying for a specific size, you’re not being tricked out of a bigger size). You save money in production runs and nobody gets hurt.

I’m fine with this if that’s what they are doing. If the fúp I also know they will fix it for me. No worries.

What has happened to the Apple software team? They really kinda suck these days. Constantly making stupid mistakes. Something that we didn’t see from them in the past. I hope they can get it back together soon!!!

Because they don’t hire the best people for the job anymore

That's what happens when the software team didn't get the memo that there would be a new 128GB model.

Wish it was the only tvOS bug...

There's hardly any apps anymore, how do you get 64 GB of apps?
Games, there is still a lot of them, although you would never know it based off of the horrible tvOS app store UI, and the app store bug.

Still plenty of games though, Apple Arcade alone would fill up 64GB with less than a dozen large games.

64GB was never enough if you were using Apple Arcade. This bug showed up right away as I have Home Screen sync on and my other AppleTVs have been filling up the 64GB.

It seems to intermittently affect other apps- one of my streaming apps (can’t remember if it was Plex or Channels) complained about a lack of memory. If you use these apps storage space is used to buffer the stream for pausing and rewinding shows.

In the meantime, users impacted by the bug using an Apple TV with 128GB of memory can try queueing enough downloads together until their Apple TV passes the artificial 64GB limit.
I have seen the "out of storage" message plenty of times on my older ATVs, but I have not seen it yet on my 128GB ATV4K3, and I am pretty sure I am over the 64GB "limit".

Maybe I am just lucky?

tvOs is an afterthought for Apple.
Sadly, I think you are right.

Developers used to be interested in the tvOS platform, but Apple killed any momentum with the botched tvOS launch, and it seems like tvOS is almost abandoned by Apple and developers.

Oh yeah, I am pretty sure the feedback requests for tvOS just end up in Apple's spam box, as they never seem to address the issues and bugs, nor take suggestions.

Neither I think. There has always been weird bugs like these that come up from time to time. Once they are fixed people will forget about the ones that came before and assume new bugs are increasing all of a sudden. Apple had more than its share of bugs even in the supposed golden era of their QA in the Snow Leopard era.
Very true. I remember the days of OS X updates (and even before) when a new update rolled out and one wasn't sure if they should pull the trigger... or wait for the next one.
