The update has screwed my 5.1, which was perfectly setup before! Now The fronts work fine, but the rears are inseparable and there's no solo sub.

Is there anyway to go back to 9.0.1?

I guess that Apple is still signing 9.0.1 so just connect your ATV4 to your computer and do a reset in iTunes, where you've previously downloaded the 9.0.1 ipsw.

The new update has totally messed things up. The trailers app used to play in Dolby digital but now it's just 2 speaker pcm.

The previews under Movies app do the same.
Another thing I haven't figured out yet - for some movies I see chapter thumbnails in the Info pane of the top-down slider, for some I don't. And I can't understand what makes the difference. Can it be the lenght of the Long Description field???

The thumbnails are baked into the movie file like subtitles or chapter titles. They are not generated on the fly (I'm in the process of adding them to movies I've ripped myself). If you are referring to ripped movies (i.e. via Handbrake) you can add them using Subler. If they're from iTunes... then they weren't included.

tvOS 9.1 has been flawless so far with what I do including home share, Plex, iTunes HD, Netflix, Hulu, etc. My setup includes an Onkyo A/V receiver which is handling sound signals properly depending on source but in most cases full Dolby surround sound. Truth be told I wasn't having any problem under 9.0.1 either but it's a nice plus to have Remote app working nicely on my iPhone running iOS 9.2. Interestingly enough Apple just released version 4.2.3 of the Remote app that explicitly says it is compatible with the ATV4...although the previous version was working just fine.

I'm loving my ATV4 with 9.1... Now I just wish it would wake up my MacMini server when I want to watch something. :-\

That's what I'm wondering about! I have the JPEG thumbnails in my movies, created by Subler. For some movies, I see them in drop-down (below the description and poster image), for others I don't. And I can't tell what is the discriminating factor here.

It looks like the Remote app works now with TVOS 9.1. :)

Remote app also works on the watch, rendering a premium couch potato experience. No more need to reach all the way... over... there... to pick up the remote, 'cause it's attached to your wrist. This alone goes a long way to fulfill the potential of both devices.

You might want to check the files that are not working in Subler... Make sure the 'chapter' track is set to English (or whatever language used) and not Unknown. This is how I got the chapter titles to show up initially. I later found out about adding thumbnails. ;-)

Good hint! I let them remain at Unknown language. Must be pure lazyness and it never made any difference before.
I will give it a try!

EDIT: Thanks a lot, Mad Hatter! That was it! Now, on second thought, it even makes sense. The chapter titles contain, well text, that must have an attribute that helps in localization.

PS: Now I understand! Adding Chapter track with Subler (eg from chapterdb.org), correctly sets the language! If I let HB do the job, it remains Unknown...

Another Tip: You can also dictate how the audio presents using Subler.

Instead of:

English
English
English

or

English (Stereo)
English (Surround)
English (Stereo)

You can be more descriptive (the following is an example of how I label my audio)...

English (PLII Stereo)
English (5.1 Surround)
English (Commentary Track)

and it will show up in the drop-down this way.
