I've found the elk.zone web app to be very good as it's modeled after the Twitter web app but is miles better.

Upcoming Meta "Instagram text app" will be the Twitter alternative (as users will retain classic Instagram followers so you already have a community there). Mastodon won't ever be mainstream or a Twitter alternative for brands and most of the people (And they don't need that)

It is expected that the new Meta Instagram app will be their first "instance" in the federverse, and allow for logins on Mastodon apps like Ivory. Sooooo, sure. People using an Instagram login on a Mastodon app. Not mainstream at all 😆

Hopefully Mastodon will grow in popularity but I’m not sure if 1.2 million active users counts as particularly popular compared to other sites.

Yeah. tried to move there from Twitter. Better for my mental health… because it’s so quiet. hopefully the ML, data ethics crowd will move over. But for now I’m still on twitter more. Nice to have a better client though!

As a plea to developers, please offer a one-time purchase tier in addition to a subscription, like the Apollo app does. This app looks great and if I used Mastodon more it'd be an easy sell to me as a one-time purchase.

I don't use Mastodon but I just noticed this app doesn't collect any personal data, which is... impressive, to say the least:

A year of iOS and Mac is $25 is crazy. I know they have to make up the $ because they don’t have the same size audience but wow…

Yep. That’s why I jumped to Mona. Supports Mac, iPhone, and iPad with a one time purchase. And the iPad app is actually decent. Ivory has a great iPhone Client and a weak iPad one. Hopefully they fold the Mac one down to the iPad.

But since it is a subscription it should really have been a universal subscription across all 3 platforms!
