Very Nice stand. Tempted to splurge when/if it hits Amazon and use some points from one of my cards.
But at this point I'm seven years deep into stands/arms/holders from TheJoyFactory don't know if its worth it.
Really like their carbon fiber and locking mechanisms.

I have something like this for my iPad mini. I use it on Zoom calls while reclining with a drawing of a🍸. The extender arm is a lot longer, tho. I'm 100 percent positive it did not cost as much as the 12 south, but it was a gift, so ??🍸😸

I wanted to ask who buys such crap, but some posters here to - well. Have fun with that fugly thing - would never use such a thing next to an iMac.

in the kitchen well if you think its cool - i think it doesn’t work - too unstable.
Just because you don't think a product is something you wouldn't buy does that automatically assign it a value of 'crap'?
I'm sure some people will really find a use for something like this, not sure I will but that doesn't mean it's not useful.

'too unstable' - I presume this statement comes from your own testing of the product right?

I would like somebody to recreate the iMac G4 experience, only with an iPad Pro:

  • Let me attach the iPad magnetically
  • Let me use the USB-C port to get access to other ports in the rear (like a hub)
  • Let me charge the iPad
  • Free-flowing, easily positioned arm to adjust the height and viewing angle

Any other good high quality one that holds a iPad Pro 12.9 2020 with a slim case? Looks nice but not sure about $80 nice.

Kensington is releasing a stand almost exactly like this. MacRumors even reported it back in early February.

You can't adjust the height though. That's crucial for me.

That hunk of junk. Looks so 1990.

Sure it has all those ports but I don't need all that crap and ridiculous price point. Takes away from the clean simple aesthetic of the ipad pro.

I think twelvesouth's stuff is very expensive...

...but nothing makes me want to try this stand like looking at the selection of ugly and poorly designed ones on Amazon, many of which are 1/2 the price but 3x as terrible.
I think the twelve south gadgets are very well built... I do have the Hover Bar 3 with a twistable hose-like metal-rings thing up to the older iPad Airs. It’s sturdy and heavy, feels pretty much indestructible, but it’s still a bit ugly nevertheless.

Eyeing this one since it’s a clamp so, at the device’s side of the mount, it would work with anything.
However, if I were to use this as an iPad Pro holder next to an imac, in landscape mode for use with sidecar (which I like a lot)... there’s no place to put the pen? The clamps seems to be in the way.
