God I miss those CCFL LCD's.

What weather app is that on the iPhone? Yahoo?

The dock is a nice design, but I've seen (and use) better quality [pre-assembled] aluminum docks made to fit right on an iMac or LED display. I like the docks from "bitemyapple". While much more expensive, they can be modded easily for differing cables and non-Apple devices. This one is pretty different:

I would get one of these things, they look awesome, but this is at a ridiculous price IMO.
You have to assemble it yourself, you need to get a Lightning cable at hand, it doesn't have any technology whatsoever. I'd buy it for $20 because of the looks. But it doesn't deserve the staggering $35 price tag.

Looks very nice, but $35 and BYOLC ridiculous. $15-20 should be their real price point.

I don't think the price is out of line with what most quality accessories cost.

35 for the stand + 19 for another cable because your not going to want to disassemble it everytime you need to go somewhere = 55 plus tax. screw that.....

That is the biggest drawback in my opinion too, cause you're certainly not going to disassemble it every time you leave, just so you can take the cable with you. And if I was going to nit-pick, I would add, that the support pillar behind your iDevice should be easily adjustable for stand-off distance (via click-stops perhaps), to allow for different device thicknesses, or different cases, rather than having to disassemble the bottom and having to find that special tool, that you forgot to tuck back in the base, and that's sure to somehow have developed legs or wings.

As for the good, it's another one of Twelve South's well thought-out/designed, and beautifully executed products, that puts some of those other cheap knock-off accessories to shame. I don't think I would use it for a Mini. But for an iPhone, after investing in the extra lightning cable, it would be a real nice addition to the desktop, imho.

3) To make them it probably costs them ~$6 including packaging.

Then you could put your money where you mouth is and order a pile from China and profit by selling them for $7 to $20. Not worth the risk, or not worth your time to do it for that little income? Then neither is it for some company.

I don't know why that number surprises you, if you know people that make products you will realize the real cost of making things versus what you want to charge. If this product w. the same quality was made for android exclusively for example then you can bet the price point would be $15; just because it's made for :apple: companies charge more. Actually if I really cared for the product I would and just charge the $19.99 and sell it at big box stores AND I would add a microusb and an old apple connector plastic piece adapter for all the android and older iPhone users so the thing becomes an universal item that can easily reach more people.
Also, a profit of $1 per product is not business, haaa you thought you could belittle my comment w/ that tizzy reply, but I'm going to tell you this: "a fool and his money are soon..." I will let you use google to find out the missing word.

Was a big user of eBay a long time ago. Walked away years ago. Between being picked apart by fees as a seller, and dealing with more and more scumbags as a buyer it just became too much of a hassle for me to deal with.

Sorry to see you go. I've figured out how to filter out buyers who don't pay, and to price my items using a 3rd party calculator that will calculate your profit based on the PayPal and eBay fees.

Looks nice. But for the price it should've come with Lightning cable in the package. Or make it $49.99 and add a IR receiver on the stand to make it a charge station and portable jukebox for iPod/iPhone/iPad with an AppleTV remote, connected to speaker via line out, or the Lightning USB cable.

I think it looks really nice, and have been looking for something like this. I sit at my desk all day and the cable are sort of a pain.

Iill probably pick one up.

I like it. Will try and order one in the next few weeks, don't have money to spare since college is starting soon. But I'll save up.

You get what you pay for. And honestly, it's no better time to point this out than right now. People's phones are exploding due to batteries that are NOT tested properly, apparently someone's house caught fire because of one too. And now power adapters are suffering the same faults, and someone died because of it.

Some of you guys are so selfish. You live in a country that forces every manufacture in this country to have everything they sell in stores follow strict rules in order to protect consumers. They all come with at least 1-year warranties, and if there is a recall, your replacement is FREE, and that's even if it is 10 years later. Get over yourselves.

I get that most of you people can't afford all the nice things, but just understand this... My parents taught me that it's always good to spend money on something that is really worth it. And that is why we have a kitchen table and a set of pots and pans that are way over 20 years old. And heck, we have boxes of Crayola crayons, markers, and colored pencils that are that old and we still use them.

You cannot afford to keep investing into cheap stuff. It's like renting a house - You're throwing money away. That $5 will end up being $100 out-of-pocket sooner or later.

This stand is future proof. If you're smart enough, you'll figure out ways to make it work with other cables.

I ordered one and it already shipped.

I'm at that point in my life where $35 won't make or break me.

Check out the Kidigi dock, I have one and it works with my case. Also doesn't stand the iPhone ridiculously high up in the air lol.

That's a nice dock. Thanks.

I'm sure I can google this but it would be helpful if you post a link.

This is one calculator I use frequently: http://www.newlifeauctions.com/calc.html

As far as "filtering" buyers on auction style listings, you can state in your listing: "I will cancel bids from buyers with zero feedback."

I have over 300 transactions on eBay and I've been good at weeding out bidders I don't feel comfortable with. I just didn't know there were calculators available that would calculate profit.

Got mine.

Holds my iPhone and iPad Mini just fine next to my desk.

I really would have gotten 2 or 3 of these but I can't justify spending more than 100.00 on docks. Maybe I'll pick some more up later on. It's perfect for next to the bed in the kitchen or anywhere. I hope when the iPad 5 comes out it works with that! That'd be awesome.

Got mine yesterday. Very nice product. Consider the original 4S dock was $29, which I miss a lot since getting the iPhone5, this is a reasonable price.

Got mine today! :D

*edit*

And it's set up! I really like it, though it was actually trickier than I thought it would be to get those screws in. Also, the rubber mat on the underside isn't completely stuck down on mine. Quality control, Twelve South!

Overall, though, it's a winner. Has a really great weight to it. Works perfectly with the middle-clip with my Speck PixelSkin HD case + iPhone 5. :)

Also, with all the adjustments you can make, I'm pretty confident this will work with the next iPhone, iPad mini etc.
