When Twitter was a hard-left echo-chamber that ruthlessly censored anyone with different opinions the media and tech journalists loved it. Since Elon cleaned it up the same people lost their minds with rage and now the BBC and others are giving ‘Threads’ maximum publicity. They want another authoritarian echo-chamber. We see you!!
True! I don't want anyone censored....I want to know who people REALLY are so I know which ones/companies to avoid, or which people/companies to shop at....when censoring happens, I know to avoid them like the plague.

As it's been said several times, non-compete clauses are illegal in California. Regardless, this lawsuit has about 0.001% chance of amounting to anything other than news headlines.
You are wrong because it would be a federal case since both are multi-national corporations that aren’t even incorporated in California. You’re assuming everybody in both companies works at the HQ, which is probably only a fraction of their workforce. A federal judge won’t care about any of California laws since they’re not applicable. Part of the discussion is patent law. Look up Apple versus Qualcomm, as I mentioned earlier. Both were CA based companies, though neither is a CA corporation, yet their patent cases went to federal court. Elon simply has to pick his judicial circuit for filing his lawsuits.

It's only federal if the employees crossed state-lines, and California isn't the only state where non-competes are illegal. Around 950 laid-off employees were from California.

Whatever..I don't care enough to do a moment of research about the topic as I hope they both fail hard. I don't use, and never used Twitter (except for about a one-week test about five years ago) and I have no intention of trying out a similar worthless service from Instagram.. The less social media, the better.

It sure does seem like Twitter's lawyers are aiming to discourage the hiring of their former employees, using a logic like "Hire our former engineers and we'll sue you and try to embarrass you".

I'm no fan of Zuck, but he should take this one to court. I doubt Twitter would survive having its execs under oath.

On your last statement I completely agree with you. Social media is a cancer on society and a pox on both Twitter and Threads and every other form of social media. I won’t use any of them.

I took a gander at Threads in the App Store and literally can’t figure out what space this app occupies that a dozen better placed alternatives don’t do already. I guess the advantage is FB/Insta integration but I’m unsure how it’s not basically a FB comment thread on a different app. I may download just to try it out, but with alternatives like Reddit, Discord, and obviously Twitter, I’m not sure what value it adds other than a soft landing if the others crash.

Guess what, they're allowed to hire people that worked for you. Even ones actively working for you. That's how jobs work. People are free to leave whenever they want.

My gut reaction.. shouldn’t have fired 90% of your workforce…. They need new jobs… Meta was willing to hire…
And if I'm in the other 10% and see an opportunity, I'm out in a puff of smoke like the Roadrunner

The Match of the Century: Musk vs Zuck

Round 3 bell rings:

Announcer 1: "And round 3! There's Musk, starting the round off with some fake jabs, a lot of taunting. But not really landing anything."

Announcer 2: ".... oooh THERE! Zuck nearly lands a leg sweep, you see Musk hobble there for a bit, eh? But still standing for now."

Announcer 1: "Yup! Saw that... then again, Zuck is a bona fide martial artist. The boy's got some moves in store for..."

Announcer 2: "What the hell.... WHO is that...."

Announcer 1: "Holy cow, this can't be real.... is it really... jumping into the ring... is THAT really..."

Announcer 2: "Tim Cook! Tim Cook wearing nothing but a Speedo and boxing gloves.... what the hell.... what the..."

Announcer 1: "Unreal. All of this is just.... unreal...."
LOL yea need a good royal rumble with all the big guys. In comes Bezos Gates.....

Elon is funny! He fired the world's smartest software engineers. Fast forward it today he is jealous that Threads was dominated in the App Store.

What I can't believe is how anyone would use these things with the invasions of privacy they have. There's a reason why these companies exist... it's open season on personal data and people just don't care. If they have a platform to put themselves out for display, they seem perfectly happy to have all their data mined to the highest bidder. <sigh>.

At least now there is a new Eccochamber where there is no fear of any open discussions and you'll be free to get all the propaganda you want...Has "ZUCK" ever innovated anything?

Two *******s going at each other. Who do I root for? It would be funny to see Twitter's downfall after he scammed himself into buying Twitter. But it's Zuck on the other side.

So if you hire someone Musk fired it's poaching Musk's employees?

Is there no end to Musk's personality disorder and chaos.

What is the line on how long the new CEO will last? I am guessing it is just long enough to collect whatever Musk has to pay her if she walks or is fired.

Oh yes they're poaching the employees you wrongfully terminated Elon.

You only have yourself to blame for all of this.
First, let me make sure you understand I detest Musk and would perfectly happy to see Twitter fail and for Zuck to then fail after destroying Twitter if he does.

Second, would you tell me how you know they were wrongfully terminated rather than just fired by the man-child? Did they have contracts that didn't permit them to be fired? If they didn't have a contract that was supposed to prevent their firing or weren't dumped for reasons that constitute illegal discrimination, how is it wrongful termination?

Twitter is being sued in multiple lawsuits from the former employees all over the world for violation of international labor laws in the terminations.

For the US, it's for violation of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) that requires a 60-day notice for mass layoffs.

In the UK there's another class action for violation of UK Labor laws, which state that if a company decides to cut more than 100 jobs, there must be a consultation period of at least 45 days between those employees “at risk” and the company before any redundancies can be made — during which those affected are able to gather information on the proposed cuts and potentially negotiate terms.

And this isn't even factoring in EU labor laws and the new Digital Services Act, or labor laws in Korea.

When Elon did his mass layoffs, he sacked people all over the world with short notice, not factoring in different foreign labor laws. And this isn't even factoring in other stuff like not honoring severance packages, failure to grant payroll, and other things.

So yeah...have fun in court Elon.

IF you read what I said, I allowed for much of what you supplied in your multiple links and quotes. Courts will decide if the terminations were wrongful according to the laws of the relevant jurisdiction. It is quite possible Musk failed to follow procedure, severance and notification requirements, but quite frankly, an employer may fire just about any employee without a contract for anything other than illegal discrimination. He might be required to follow certain procedures and failed to, but you through out a term that quite frankly, does not apply regardless of your list of actions underway against him.

Follow the cases for the next 10 years and let me know. Nothing you said points to a legal bar to him firing people. How he fired people is a different story.

People are not slaves. If they were let go from Twitter or for whatever reason wanted to go to Facebook too bad for Twitter. Cool Elon's rage and firing people on the spot if you want to retain and attract good talent.
