I could see if you left a company as your choice but if you are terminated, all bets are off and one should be able to go work wherever their skills are needed.

Terminated or not, I've seen a good number of top-level managers going to the competition as well. Anti-competition clauses can be wiped of the table if it fits them. It is not even unusual that a rival company pays the penalty to get that person on their team.

I think it’s safe to say he has killed Twitter in less than a year, which his supporters said wouldn’t happen. I went to Twitter to read about it and I couldn’t because I’m still “rate limited” even though I haven’t been in Twitter for 24 hours. It’s dead, stick a fork in it.
